Young needs to prove he can contribute at this level more consistently than he has in the past
Huge opportunity for him. Looking smooth at the moment, but it will count for nothing if he can't stay in and get a score

All I can think of there is that Reifel thought bat on foot was an inside edge.
Thats what Doull suggested

Tactically we have been excellent today clear batting and bowling plans.
The only thing that I'm hugely critical of - even though things have worked out almost perfectly so far is... in what dream world do they live in that they throw the new ball to Timmy and say, "have the first crack - you're most likely to grab the early wicket."
It's beyond moronic!

Haha he did get the first wkt he is useless once the ball gets older if you are going to play him and I wouldn’t he has to have the new ball to get any swing or he is absolute shit.
It is the only way to get anything out of him with the new ball,
No use bowling him at 3 to let the pressure off might as welll bowl him up front and hope he knicks one of two off. -
Fascinating battle, Bumrah is trying to set up Young knowing his weakness is just outside off stump, and Young is trying to counter that by leaving as much as he can, but the odd one that comes back in will make him wary of leaving balls that are too close. So far Young has done well and forced Bumrah to bowl closer in.

I knew the Indian comms would wank on about us having the best of the batting conditions, despite how early on day one we batted.

@Chris He did - but, he's not close to the most likely to.
They'll do it in the second innings as well and it will be an invitation to the Indian openers to play themselves in before Matt Henry gets the ball in his hand.
He should not be there but if you bowl him
At 3 he will get carted no movement to slow cannon fodder at least opening the bowling he may get a couple, I see the logic otherwise you can’t really bowl him.
