If that's the team there must be a lot of injuries/unavailabilities.
Tudreu isn't even in the Harlequins squad. No LCF, Sinkinson or Cook-Savage. I was expecting Mathis to be playing for the U19s against Counties. He has leap-frogged some older no.7s, and Filipo could have played McCurran at 7 and Saifoloi at no.8.

Ah no stress.
Good to see both Wramplings back on the field.
Also nice to see plenty of young talent in there. Waikato have had a habit of fielding quite a few journeymen in years gone by - maybe it's just the injuries but whatever the cause, there are some great prospects in there.
Also interesting to see Oli Mathis get the start ahead of Andrew Smith. Likely two NZ U20 7s in a row.

Last year Filipo played a lot of young players, many of whom were U20. They are in the squad/wider squad this year. These younger players need to be physically ready to play NPC. Refer to Neil Barnes' comments about Fiti Sa.

Smith isn't a 7 so that was never a selection decision. He will be covering lock/6, and Cribb lock/6/8.

Fair, I've forgotten a lot of last year. Don't recall the original squad having too many youngsters (could be completely wrong) but the nature of the competition now is that teams regularly dip into the player pool outside the original squad (as is already the case this week).
Shows how much I know re Smith!
