Chiefs 2025

@darylmitchell would you think this is the likely shuffle? Given the log jam at 10, would any of trask, jacomb or dmac be relocated to 15? Not sure how much time trask or jacomb have spent at 15 tbf

Please don't play Jacomb at 15.

Jacomb played 15 for Naki when Potroze played 10
And they were poorer for it.
Taranaki also used Slater as a flanker and Lennox as a winger, but what works in the NPC seldom works in SR. My point is that there are better options if you are moving a 1st 5 to fullback. I'd be happy with ENS at 15 and look to sign a new winger if Stevenson gets his release.

Looking to be Mataele or Malimali which doesn't fill me with hope.
Gray is there too. Malimali would probably have the inside running.

Oh for sure. I get the feeling that the Chiefs will want to get Jacomb on the field. I'd be surprised if we don't see DMac and Jacomb on the field at the same time, so it will be interesting to see which one plays 10, and which ones plays 15.

there are better options than Mailimali and Gray
Tupaea played the season for Waikato at 11, he makes big metres on the left
Wrampling has played just as much on the wing in his career as midfield
Daniel Rona also started a few games in 2024 on the left wing for Chiefs
-
@darylmitchell We're talking about a potential squad replacement, not a starter, or even someone who makes the 23.

Jacob off the bench and Dmac moving to 15 to finish the game (ENS to wing) seems like the obvious way to go here.
With Trask as well though, who was poor at 15 previously, I’m not sure how they will all fit in (with fingers crossed that injuries don’t solve this issue).
