Force v Hurricanes

@Canes4life Perhaps george was correct?

@antipodean anyone can be super vague.

So apparently it wasn’t Roigard that injured his bicep, it was Richard Judd. That’s why Laidlaw reflected on his pre season game against the Landers and said it was a shame because he played well. The injury cloud around Roigard was that he picked up a calf niggle from the ABs camp and that’s why he didn’t play against Moana Pasifika the other day.
From the article below it states that Perenara hasn’t travelled which means Jordi Vijoen will likely come off the bench against the Force as fourth HB option. Jacob Devery also did his knee in pre season training so won’t be back for a while.
Sounds like Brad Shields and Bailyn Sullivan may have made the plane as they weren’t mentioned as having missed it.

The only media I can find on Roigard's injury is the following - he looks to be cleared to play for round 1 so that's great news. Hopefully Vijoen comes off the bench
Isn't Viljoen only injury cover in extended squad? Are Rudd etc injured?
-
@Dan54 see my post above. Judd has a bicep injury and it's likely he'll be out for some time. Perenara isn't travelling to Perth but might be available for round 2 against the Reds in Melbourne. That means Roigard should start on Friday night, with Vijoen (as fourth option) coming off the bench. I assume Kyle Preston also travelled to Perth being the 5th halfback in the pecking order.

Vijoen is obviously a HB of huge potential. The only concern I have is his defense based on one pathetic tackle attempt I saw
But Preston looks more than ok too at this level. Shame the limited Wellington coaches selected the takes-forever-to-get-the-ball-away KHP

@Duluth 30C should be doable. The Canes faced tougher when they played the Reds in Townsville last year.
Whoppa said on SENZ they have been using a special room at the NZCIS to prepare. Whether that makes a difference, I guess time will tell.

Jordi Viljoen could be the biggest of biggest All Black bolters this year... kid is special.
A couple of years away with cattle we got at 9 I imagine. But I certainly not upset at him getting the first start of the year!!
