3 minutes to play, Warriors impressive against a very underwhelming Souths. TMM hardly visible in first half, steps up strongly and impressive in the second. Warriors will be happy with a big win here. 34-4
Yeah, good win, but tough to rate as Souths are utter poop.
Laban looks decent and has good size.
-
@Nepia yeah agree, if they were competent, they probably could have tested on the edge like they did early, but were a mess. Hard to rate our effort, but great confidence for the new kids.
Agree Laban did look good

Jesus fuck you would take the fun out of a blow job from Monica belucci
We smashed souths in Sydney. A team we haven't beaten in forever. We had some big outs. They didn't score for more than 70 minutes. We never looked like losing despite some dick fingers.
This is one to celebrate.

Was otherwise occupied and didn’t see this game, but what he said!
Excuse the cliche but this had banana skin all over it. Missing a handful of first stringers, against a team we have struggled against in recent years.
When I checked the score at 34-4 I was fucking wrapt, that’s a big win, and away.
Without seeing the game it screams clinical against a team that any contender needs to be clinical against.

well that round was certainly something. Upsets, injuries (so many injuries), a red card, Newcastle and St George playing in a pool...
Melbourne v Brisbane is one of the best regular season games i remember, and i was lucky enough to watch it from the stands. Cracking fun.
Friday night was two meme games. Saturday was Warriors day, oh yeah and Manly beat Penrith.
Yesterday the Cowboys made hard work of the Titans, and the Raiders smoked the Eels. And so, after 5 rounds, we have a really fucking weird ladder
Dolphins and the Cowboys are 1 and 2, but in all honesty that's because both teams have had the softest of draws to open the year. The Dolphins will get exposed once the good teams come along. The Cowboys have the prettiest attack in the comp, but they leak, and they have a few spuds that are guaranteed spots.
Melbourne are legit.
Fuck knows what Cronulla are week to week
How exactly are Canberra this good? Our win against them is looking better and better
Manly are good i think? or maybe lucky? Brooks is looking a great pick up though
Penrith are the benchmark, but are gettable without Cleary. They will not miss Luai though, and the Tigers might be having buyers remorse.
The Tigers are 9th! Nature is healing
How the fuck do the Roosters suck this hard?
Brisbane are smashed by injuries at the top of their roster, and still could have knocked Melbourne over.
Everyone else sucks, including the Eels without Moses.Souths are the whipping boys at the moment. Huge issues. They lack a bit of quality in the pack, and their high profile players are not delivering. Coach is in the gun and the media smell blood and are circling.

On the Warriors, we're 3-2, and it doesn't take much in the way of mental gymnastics to see we could be 5-0. We really should have beaten Cronulla, and paid the price for not putting them away with the million chances we created. Melbourne needed a miracle try that will be shown in highlights for years to come to beat us with time up.
Defensively we are as good as anyone, but we just don't put on enough points to put teams away when we are on top.
Like anyone else, we are hugely reliant on our best players, and this all unravels if SJ goes down, or when Egan gets hurt next.
But we look genuine top 4 material (especially this year when know one knows who is good yet). -
@mariner4life Very weird season so far. There was even a rumour that Wayne tanked the first game to light a fire under the dolphins, which they have done well since, but some teams really have had an easy draw. I expect them to even lose though this week against a broncos team looking for a win after going down against Melbourne who seem to know how to master the close win.
Roosters also started slow last year and came back very competitive near the end. Given they lost Radley to the bin, Young to a red card, Tedesco early to a CAT 1, they probably can be forgiven for losing shape in a bizarre game of wet weather football. Only then to be upstaged by the water polo in Newcastle.
Raiders and Manly at home look tough to beat, the fact that the Raiders have the GC at home this week will only potentially give Souths some breathing space for who is the worst team. Clearly given their roster, Souths are the worst performing team. Latrell should have been binned at minimum for that elbow on SJ.
Manly playing in NZ should give us a better indication of how good the Warriors are, toss of a coin for me, but you would have to lean towards the home team after that huge effort in Sydney and previous results in Akl vs Manly.
Without Galvin and Fainu (if he was also at CAT1) think the Tigers probably lose another this week, in what previously would have been considered a cripple fight with ST George, but both teams have shown enough that on their day both will knock over other top teams. Could be a very good and even game if both bring their A games. Biggest story for the Tigers will most likely by year end not be Benji, but given what they have spent on halves, is if Galvin stays.
Cowboys to remain on top who will travel to Parra who look completely lost without Moses.
Could not pick a final eight at this stage with injuries and HIA protocols, Origin all going to change the shape of many teams throughout, will probably even get half the above predictions wrong given how even this comp has been.

To think that win occurred without Walker, Niukore, Capewell either must be great confidence for the squad

worried about the fan chat starting around Egan to play Origin. He won't survive that!!

Agree, think he will break in the first tackle, especially with his history of head knocks. For me probably the smartest hooker in the NRL but not built for Origin
-
well, if the reports are to be believed, you can close the book for first coach sacked, as Demetriou is getting his marching orders this weekend.
Talk of the town is getting old man Wayne back. How did you end up here in the first place Bunnies? Every single club Wayne coaches at, the next coach gets sacked because they suck.
-
Guys that should also be in the gun are Brad Arthur at the Eels, who has been at the Eels for a decade and won fuck all, and probably Des Hasler, who has performed a miracle and made the Titans worse.
I wonder if Trent Robinson will start getting heat from the Roosters board?

Hes playing great and it would be an honour. But for selfish reasons I hope he doesn't get picked...

to think it was possible
Wayne is looking for a team, but I doubt its Souths, internally they have always wanted Burgess, I just don't think he would be free of commitments just yet. Potentially both maybe?
I think Brad Arthur, still probably ok, but if they continue to go backwards without Moses then Im sure they will come after him. Problem is no good coaches free, unless they also make a play for Wayne

CHT to get 2 months of game time now as back up to Egan I guess, Freddy about to get a long sit down for destroying Ilias leg

So, Michael Jennings. How do we feel?
300 games this weekend. 41st player to do it. Tradition is, you get the game ball presented to you, generally by the CEO.
The NRL has, after media pressure, come out and said that won't happen this weekend.
And why? Well, because by all accounts Michael is a bit of a shit bloke. He's coming back from a drugs ban. Then he lost a civil case where it was found he, on multiple occasions, sexually assaulted his former partner, and was ordered to pay her a sizeable sum. An amount i believe he has not even begun to pay back. Note, no criminal charges, civil only.
Despite all this, the NRL signed off on re-registering Jennings, and let him join the Roosters.
And so, we come to this weekend, and the NRL's decision. Should this bloke be "honoured"? well, no, it appears he's a bit of a shit bloke. BUT, if the NRL think he's "clean" enough to get re-registered with their organisation, surely he is "clean" enough to be treated like everyone else?
IMO he should never have been given another contract (willing to admit i don't know how this would go in court given the lack of criminal charges). And i can understand the NRL CEO not wanting to be seen to be handing this bloke a game ball. The Roosters and Jennings say they are okay with this, but that is PR in full spin. I just feel, if you took the step to re-register the bloke, then this actually makes you look weak.
-
@mariner4life I dont think he should have been re-registered either and I also think the Roosters should be copping flack even for asking.
I'm ok giving people a second chance, especially if he was trying to make amends and he was able to demonstrate this through different channels..
but when he is not even doing this...
