And Brook
Didn't change the favourites tag tho - 250+ lead is beyond these idiots

252-4
Going along nicely

Australia will be happy with 2-2
I mean at this point they have no option. Be out for under 300
Yep, the away-from-home passengers in Australia's top and middle order have been exposed as the series has gone on. Will be a genuine surprise (and a top effort) if they manage a series win from here.

Great effort England for walking the talk after some bullshit in the first couple of tests.
It sux that the weather has played such a part.
Australia need a massive performance to save this test. They have the cattle to do it though, fascinating day in store
I see Stuart Broad has announced his retirement. All the talk of Anderson and his longevity…..it’s easy to forget this guy has been around for donkeys years. I remember him as a really fresh faced ( but tall when you stand next to him at the pub ) bloke who toured here just before my 15 year old son was born.I would never have guessed he’d have this kind of career…..hats off. Incredible stuff.
As a funny quirk of fate he dismissed his coach TEN times at test level apparently !

Looking ominous

Good fight back from Aussie overnight. Warner in particular was under huge pressure
Not sure if I agree on the odds. NZ Tab is similar to everywhere else
Aus 1.65
Eng 3.25
Draw 5.45Eng and the Draw look a bit long.
Sure England looks a little tired, Wood barely bowled and Root is trusted more than Ali. However with some friendly overhead conditions on the final day wickets could be easier. A couple of quick wickets and the pressure will be on
The Draw is only likely if there's rain interruption. The forecast suggests there might be a couple of showers. It wouldn't take that many lost overs for Aussie to back off from chasing and accept 2-1

What’s the storey with Stokes ?
He’s tantalisingly close to joining the 200/3000 club but isn’t bowling. Is he injured ?
One thing I will say is he’s obviously a terrific captain and worth more than his stats if that makes sense. ( take out his bowling and he’s just a bog standard test batsman really ) and a great team man inserting himself at number three while Ali was injured.
It is nice to see Warner get a few runs but he must be on borrowed time.
Exciting last day in store. Australia are now a huge chance to actually win this.

Constant niggles means he barely bowls. He had a long spell in one of the early Tests and hasn't bowled since
Even in the nets he's been bowling offspin. However yesterday morning he did get through a few normal deliveries in the nets.. so some people think he might force himself to bowl if the result is on the line
Ali with a tight hammy, Wood only bowling three overs in the day, Anderson below his normal high standards. Stokes might be required

Draw 5.45That is some good odds for England and the draw - given Aus still needs 250 and so any rain will start to cause run rate pressures. Not to mention Aus hasn't really gone big this series.
I reckon Warner will retire in Australia in the coming season. When will Jimmy retire?

What's the bet the prick gets 6 wickets?
Are you actually Australian ?
The self deprecation in this and the Bledisloe thread is getting out of control.
Can’t you be the kind of arrogant prick that @Virgil hates ?

Warner has already flagged he wants to go after the Sydney test this year. Which I think was his way of subtly pressuring the selectors to keep him in the side. But he's done enough now to get there I think.
Agree the odds for Australia are too short. Fourth innings chases are hard and there's still a long way to go. England will be pushing hard for the result and our batsmen have been pretty unreliable lately.

How’s the Australian depth at the moment ? Any talented young openers stating a case ? Is it like the days of Stuart Law ? ( gets an unbeaten half ton in his only test but never plays again due to amazing depth )

Not at opener, no. Marcus Harris might be next in line but he's a bit of a journeyman. Cameron Bancroft had a good Shield but he's been tried and largely failed. Will Pucovski is the great hope but unclear if he will ever take the field again given his concussion history.
They might end up elevating Travis Head as they did in India, or even Cameron Green. Who knows.
