It was on Frank Bunce and there was nothing hard bastard about it. The UK press didn't remark on it all but then had a collective meltdown when something similar happened to Phil DeGraville on a tour later the same year (by Jamie Joseph IIRC). They even brought in the Chariots of Fire writer to write an inflammatory article about it - yep, he's as shit at sports writing as he is at scripting.

@Tim I did not know this incident so searched for video without success, but found this instead of a french ref taking out a spectator who head butted him!
