Not the done thing to award MOTM to a member of the losing team, but Am was my MOTM
you could argue he is the best player in the world at the moment.

Yeah he was brilliant.
Tough call on the disallowed try which he set up but hey Ho there we go.
Still hate the front row replacements after 30 mins.
That starting bok front was complete dogshit.
Punters saying Boks have the two best front rows on the planet are blind.
-
Though Richie M was two poor decisions away from an excellent match.
Needs to spend some time with OGara on how to manage a game. Skill set he’s fine, snd was key in almost all our good back line plays.
He’s ahead of Barrett for me.
Speaking of which ….
Scott Barrett >> Retallick.

Winning was obviously the main objective, but not completely bottling it when we lost Beaudie to the bin and then went behind on the scoreboard by 2 points, would’ve been a key outcome from this too.
Hopefully it’s a great shot in the arm for our confidence.

@KiwiMurph Was gonna make a point about the 2nd try we scored. We had forwards carrying for multiple phases in the lead up and then we reverted to our pet play around the back off the first pod which can be used if you do the hard work up front, which we did for once by creating space for it. For the last while, we've just used it as a default play no matter what the numbers were out wide, and as a result, we'd find ourselves behind the advantage line. But on this instance, we used it once we found a mismatch, which got us 5 meters out and a few phases later we scored through Taukeiaho.
A few simple minor adjustments like our forwards actually carrying can go a long way. Still a few more things to iron out but I think we're heading in the right direction whether that's with or without Foster.

Pearce - shit scrum call aside - MOTM
Best refereeing performance in ages
That so called “leg lift” against Whitelock was an unnecessary call too. Wasn’t even lifted and had zero effect. Could have been a turning point on the match.
The not straight call for Taylor’s first throw was also very pedantic and unnecessary. He had a good first half but his second half was more in line with his contemporaries

Keep Nonu on. Didn’t get the Sky memo to ask leading non questions. Asking real ones and pressing the answer.
God yes I was wanting Jeff to shut the fuck up with his waffly bullshit.
I like where Nonu was going with the last question - pushing for some consistency in selections.
Nonu also sounds like he'd make a decent fist of coaching with his game questions too.
People go on about Conrad being the "brains" but Nonu was easily as smart a player. He really was the complete package at 12, comfortably the GOAT 12.
Didn’t Ted tell a story about how he was about rip Nonu one about a misfiring backline and he looked like he was sulking then he turned around and gave a full on analysis back about why the plan was wrong and the small adjustments needed.
Wayne Smith.

Full game with SA commentary. May not stay up for long.

Fantastic win
Congratulations
But you won in spite of RM not because
If you think he’s the answer at 10 you’ve learned nothing
He did some very important things in terms of getting our backline going. Made some terrible errors too. But overall his intent in attack is what we needed tonight.
Yeah laughable to suggest what Mike said.
@Canes4life said it best when discussing JGB. I'd rather have rocks and diamonds than just rocks.
If Polllard had been playing for NZ it would have been a canter
What the fuck did Pollard do? Disappeared or passed it to Am? Yeah good one.
Kicked for territory
Got his backline moving
Didn't put his side under needless pressure
Didn't give up pointsAll behind a non-dominant forward pack
If he'd had the ride RM had, the margin of victory would have been greater
It worked really well. Meanwhile RM gave his forwards a sweet ride so that he could get a sweet ride.
Ha ha
Must have been watching a different game from me
I hope you keep him
Because he'll shit the bed when you least want him to
Yeah cos you'd be extremely worried if we got Barrett out there instead to steer us backwards down the pitch. I hope we keep him too, because he'll shit the bed when we least want him to... instead of all the fucking time.

Mike doesn't want Richie playing when Wales play ABs in November 🤣

Thought that was a pretty good test. Almost MOTM for me was almost Jason Ryan, or whoever got the forwards winning front foot ball again.. Of players there were plenty of good uns, but I really thought Sam Whitelock had a huge game, along with Scott Barrett and Shannon Frizzel they gave some shoulder that the Boks felt. Savea continues to amaze me. Generally all backs went ok, but had good front foot ball and would hope they would. All in all pretty satisfying perfromance.

Just watched the full replay without knowing the result ,
Great game , another Ellis park classic , ( there have been a few ) was good to just put all the bullshit going on atm to the side and just enjoy the rugby
-
Yeah kudos to the players and coaches, a gazillion times better than our other win this year and I really didn't think they had it in them.
I'm left with this niggling thought though.... just where was that desire, drive and want the last half a dozen tests?

Probably there but with a collective loss of confidence & too much pressure. Maybe Havili's kick in the first minute set the scene and gave them some confidence early on.
Only one game though and we've been here before. Pumas will be a stiff Test as they seem to tearing the Wobblies a new tonight.
