The girls are halfway there. 58-1 after just 5 overs. No need to take risks now
Risk with Bates bashing it straight down the fielder's throat is we only really have three batters that I trust to get this done safely. Now Plimmer has barely troubled the scorers, so Kerr joins Devine, and hopefully...

We have plenty of time. No need for these two to take risks. Just guide the ship home. Run rate is 3 per over

We lose another wicket after Plimmer guides a ball into the slips. I bet they wish Satherwaite was there to help Devine guide us home!
Yep, it's disturbing how much a "high performance"coach and a flea-brained selection panel can shoot a team in the foot sometimes...

Are we still talking about cricket?

All of the above... I think peak carnage would be Bob Carter joining Ian Foster as an Assistant Coach, and Emily 'we didnt miss Kasperek' Drumm joining as a selector...
Back to the game at hand. Despite that 3 an over required run rate, Kerr looks in a hurry.

Yes it does
How in the fuck does it result in 38 minute 10k?

An excellent result from the White Ferns. While the final often felt like a bridge too far, they are one of the better teams around, and are definitely better than they showed in the CWC at home. Nice to see Sophie Devine hit the winning runs too. Devine, Bates, and Kerr are very much the engine room of the batting lineup, and got the job done.
As for England, perhaps unsurprising to see the final run come from a dropped catch. Plenty of talent, but they don't respond at all well when put under genuine pressure.

Quote of the Games
'He came from yesterday to win that' - Steve CramI saw that earlier. What a freak. Apparently the collapsing after the race is his move, which is a bit weird
