Anyway to turn off the notification of new posts in topics? I modified my settings but it still appears (the unread box)

The change on the phone layout is a little jarring. The real notifications are on the right now
There is no setting for it. I could hide it but that would change it for everyone
What about this green for unread and red for notifications? Would that help? eg:

@Duluth classic example of a feature that worked perfectly. Sometimes I wonder whether these guys change for change's sake.
Like app developers who changed the Twitter star to a love heart. Why? We all knew what it meant.
Anyway, as you say: jarring, but will get used to it.

Any way to get the right hand menu to default to notifications when opened? Mine defaults to profile status (like I give a fuck)

I'm not a fan of their UI choices (the default look is very different to the fern)
They're doing some interesting things on the backend though setting up for a UI refresh. In a release or two I'll have a lot more flexibility to code my own stuff

It would remember your selection until you refreshed the page and it would then switch back to the profile tab
I agree that 'Notifications' makes a lot more sense
I made a code change.. it should default back to the notification tab after refreshing now?

I have a white 'The Silver Fern' heading that drops down over the top menu options, and when I tap it it takes me back to the home page so can't use the links at the top to navigate through each forum sub category.
An using a Huawei P30 Pro, have the shortcut to the Fern saved on my home screen.

The same thing still happens to the heading if you click on the search icon and the input is displayed. Probably not as big of an issue though

Me too, it's much nicer on the phone too as the notifications were a bitch before.

Once I figured it out, the fly-out menu with Profile, notifications and messaging works great on my OnePlus Nord 2. Notification history is much better too.
Am getting broken image indicators on the Home page next to the poster's moniker, though. Refresh doesn't change things.

Since the maintenance I have been unable to post from my laptop - I get a forbidden message.
I thought I might have copped a ban for saying Clint wasn’t the greatest of all time or not liking Liz’s bikini pics … but I’m able to post on my phone still.

@Nepia try the old clearing cookies/cache, especially when it's just one device with the issue. Or, if it's a work laptop, maybe they've blocked it?

As @No-Quarter said, try a hard refresh or clear your browsers cache. Your browser is probably running older cached code or there is a session mismatch
There's been a few more issues this time because the software hadn't been updated for ages and there were loads of changes

I don't really have control of the position of stuff like that. I hated it at first but have gotten used to it already
I think the colour change helped. Initially the unread and notifications were both red which sucked
