@Tim That won't be too far away.
I don't think Tuipolotu makes it, because they have three experienced locks and two up-and-comers, so no point squeezing him in when he's given them an excuse not to and is a known (and not superb) quantity.
They'll probably only name two first fives, but if they name a third, it might be Bryn Gatland - I'd have him ahead of Perofeta, but not McKenzie.
Boltiest of bolters for the midfield, whom I haven't watched much but has impressed me every time I have - is Bailyn Sullivan. I'm only writing him down, to look like a guru if he gets picked!
And you know we will all forget you named him if he not picked so a shrewd move Chris

We'll all be in trouble if they call in the auditors on our selections and start issuing fines for writing crap!

@taniwharugby Fox may not have been much with ball in hand, but his distribution was sharp.

@Bones well storm looking at mounga wasn't there coach in crowd last nite
Coach was in the Crusaders Box.Craig Belamy is good mates with Razor,Belamy was at the Crusaders captains run on Saturday.
They interact with each other regularly, they have spent time at each others bases on a few occasions. -

@Tim nice work. To me of those midfielders you've listed Tupaea is the one most on the bubble. Havili will make it at the very least due to his versatility. We desperately need more size in midfield. I'd pick TUJ (instead of Tupaea) and Leicester can take Ennor's spot.
Exactly my changes in the midfield too.

@Bones Franks was a quality tighthead for a very long time, and was brilliant at shifting bodies at breakdown time imo but sadly is remembered for the last 2-3 years of his career, and what proves that he's the only decent scrummager imo is watching how Tu'ungafasi, Lomax and especially Ta'avao struggle there. Tu'ungafasi is the best out of those 3 and the best all round prop, but isn't a better scrummager than Laulala.
Unless Newell keeps developing the way he is, then Laulala will continue to start at tighthead.

That's what I'm trying to figure out though - does he get penalised less? Win more tightheads? What is it?

I don't think they should be putting Rieko back on the wing again barring an injury emergency. He's established himself as a 13 now and is an absolute weapon for us there.
In my match day 23 I'd be looking at Goodhue and Rieko combo with ALB on the bench covering both positions.
-
My backline at moment is:
Smith
Beauden
Reece
Goodhue
Rieko
Jordan
JordieChristie
Mo'unga
ALBWould happily swap Clarke for Reece if he starts to recapture the form that got him selected in the first place.
-
@Bones He can hold his side up, allowing us a platform to attack from on, and yes, doesn't get penalised on defensive scrums. I remember when he went off against the Boks in townsville and they piled on the pressure on Tu'ungafasi who gave away multiple scrum penalties which nearly cost us the test.

@No-Quarter so goodhues done enough to overtake ALB already

I'm fine with either starting, but feel ALB offers more from the bench in terms of cover and impact
-
@No-Quarter fair enough. Never understood the concept of the bench player needing to cover all the positions. If the starters can cover positions then it doesnβt matter surely?

I prefer the utility to come from the bench, purely to minimise disruption. If you only have a 12 on the bench and he comes on for a centre/wing, that's two big changes to the backline.
