3 of Blues tries on the weekend came from Rieko throwing the final pass - none of which were offloads either (i.e. they weren't rieko trying to make a break, getting caught and then throwing an offload).
I don't even think there would be any discussion would there, Reiko has developed into best 13 we got. As you pointed ouy KM. he has definitely learnt when and how to pass to someone in space,I didn't think he ever really failed at that anyway. His defence is sometime questioned, but he seems pretty capable of showing attackers space and then cutting them down with his pace.

Jordie, Jordan and Reece
No power-wing, no thanks.
I’d still prefer Ioane on the wing but it looks as if centre is his gig.
Why on earth would you want the best centre in New Zealand to play on the wing?
His impact on the wing at test level speaks for itself.
I still think ALB / Goodhue is the combo that this coaching staff have really wanted. Ioane on the wing with Jordie at fullback plus A. Nother.

Tana was a pretty good winger too. What a ridiculous argument. Players evolve and he's clearly the best centre in New Zealand. By an order of magnitude.
Instead let's select obviously inferior players and then complain Rieko's at fault for not looking for work because the donkeys inside him can't get him the ball often enough.

then that is damning as it completely ignores all new information

See I thought Umaga was a world class winger but an ok midfielder. A better centre than 2nd 5.

Feel free to call me a moron, and I'm perfectly happy to have him at centre (and I've never complained when the ball hasn't gone his way like in some test matches, in fact I think I've highlight when they haven't fed the ball to him), I just think with a fit (and obviously in form) ALB at centre feeding him the ball in space out wide that he's a bloody weapon there as well.

Wouldn't that be Jordan? You'd hope it would be. Also Umaga was a great midfielder, I'm genuinely surprised by how underrated he's becoming in hindsight (although understandable by you Cantabs as you has the machine that was Mark Robinson and I think a few of the Blues fans muddle up the coach with the player ).

Good fullback. Great winger. Great centre. Great 2nd Five. Shit Coach.

@Crucial I'll be surprised if they pick both Christie and Fakatava and I wouldn't if I was Fozzie.
Why not?
Because neither have played in a big test before. So what happens if we lose the first test AND Christie happens to shit the bed coming off the bench?
Or, we lose the first test AND Nuggie gets injured?
Fozzie's backed into a corner where he's got a must win second test and his fallback is basically the work experience kid.
I reckon he'll take at least one of TJ or Weber, because they've proved they can play at that level.
Pick one of the young guys and give him a run in the third test if we're up (or down) 2-0.
I get the logic but isn’t this thinking what we are critical of Foster about?
Pick the players in form. If that’s Weber then pick Weber. If it’s Christie pick Christie. Fakatava has shown his potential and shows no signs that he will fold if he goes up a level. He needs a 30 minute spell against Ireland to see what we have. -
@Crucial Who is we?
I don't subscribe to just picking the form players and discarding experience that has yet to run its course.
I don't have any real issues with Fozzie's squad selections to date - I think they've been pretty bang on. A few of his match day XVs haven't been.

Nah, it's that you are pushing the case for a guy who has had a ton of chances (four fuckin years in the ABs) at test level and has been 100% reliable in failing to deliver.

just to be clear; anyone who thinks the All Blacks are better served by Rieko Ioane on the wing rather than centre is a fucking moron
absolutely all of this. Reiko at 13 is already our most dangerous weapon
Fuck could you imagine him playing 13 outside Nonu?
I just came

If Smith is the no.1 halfback until next year's RWC, surely you want to look at the options for the bench halfback now? Is it Christie? Is it Fakatava? Or TJP/Weber? One of TJP or Weber can play Ireland for the Māori so I would hope that these 3 tests are used for that purpose. Otherwise, it's really only the Argentinean tests where the squad tends to be rotated.
