-
@ACT-Crusader Fair, but imo, I thought Penrith were always gonna win with ease. Parra have done well to get this far.

Did Forrest win the Clive Churchill medal too amongst his great achievements? 😉

Post match they're reading out the junior clubs from which the players came.
A lot of these guys are Western Sydney local. A couple of country boys and a couple from across town. I think the Panthers won the U18 and U20 comp this year as well?
Has "dynasty" written all over it...

There's an awful lot of talent out there, which makes the fate of the Emus even more disappointing.
-
Well that was dominant
First 10 minutes the atmosphere was the best I have ever experienced. Fuuuucking loud. That didn't last long though
Writing was on the wall thr first few sets. Parramatta trying to get in to the grind against Penrith? What sort of idiotic plan was that? Penrith were allowed to play their game and took over.
Huge metres out of the back 3 (parras lazy in comparison) cleary kicks where he wants. Rinse repeat until someone misses a tackle
Penrith were basically perfect. No errors. Few missed tackles. Huge metres, quick play thr balls. As dominant as possible.
On thr flip side Parra were shit. Ineffective one-out running. Fuck all else. Pulled out of shape on D far too easily. Cowboys should have been there...
Great occasion. My youngest lived his best life. But I better game would have been nice.

Feels like the AFL final right now
18-0 may as well be 30-0 with the way the Panthers are defending and the lack of inroads from the Eels attack.
Yeah 21 tackles in opposition 20 to 0. That’s dominant.
Eels looked to finally make some inroads in last 2-3 mins but will need to score next to do anything. But it has been that one sided that it looks very unlikely
We were right on the Parramatta attacking 20 in the 1st half. The only play we saw was the kick off
-
So Penrith won everything
Gus just formalised their best advantage. They have sole dominion over the best rugby league nursery in the world. They develop the wealth of talent, their team is stacked with local juniors because they ALL grow up wanting to be Panthers. There is nothing else out there, rugby league is king
Throw in Sydney's fucked up property prices actively pushing league demographic families in to their area and the rest of the league should be worried.
Their top side won't be as good next year without kikau and apisau, but I don't bet against them unearthing good replacements.
And because they are local boys, and lots are family oriented poly boys, it's very hard to buy them away.
-
yeah that was about as dominant as it gets in a grand final ,
Complete shut out , im not even sure if parra played that bad , their best just isnt on the same level ,
Sounded loud coming thru the tv early in the game when the scores were level , imagine the hysteria when the Eels actually win one again .
-
and so the News Ltd pile-on begins
Apparently Penrith aren't gracious enough winners for them. Stay humble you poor people from teh West.
A team that has lost 9 games in 3 seasons, been to 3 straight GFs, and just gone back-to-back can pretty much say whatever they want. They absolutely flogged Parra on Sunday night, that margin was extremely flattering to the Eels.
JFH is right, this is the best Penrith side of all time. By fucking miles.

The system seems pretty solid but don’t underestimate the Sydney league media trying to find ways to get at them and unearth some controversy.

He was never the quickest in the halves so no surprise he got chased down 😀
I guess he’ll be in the ACT legislative assembly or the Australian Senate in the next couple of years with this….
