Wales v Australia

Wallabies skipper Michael Hooper has been ruled out of his side's season finale in Cardiff after suffering a foot injury in Saturday's loss to England.
Hooper left the field in the 54th minute of the 32-15 loss at Twickenham, before scans on Monday confirmed the flanker had suffered a grade two mid-foot sprain. Is Samu the only option for 7?

I am told Colby Fainga'a is with the squad.

@gibbon-rib mate it'll come down to how many clumsy bastards on either side injure themselves at training this week, or catch the bat flu.
Fuck knows.
I think if we stop the stupid offloads and sort out our discipline we're half a chance, but we're going to miss Hooper sorely.

Or maybe how many clumsy bastards get themselves carded on the day.
Real shame about Hooper. It's certainly going to be two makeshift teams scraping it out. I'm making Aus decent favourites if only because I reckon Rennie's much more capable of cobbling together a vaguely functional team from whatever spare parts are lying around.

Pivac is still using Gatland's playbook - at least for the backline. If we can halt that, we'll do OK. We managed to stop England's maul by and large so that is hopefully a good sign if Tupou and AAA are back.

All polynesian backrow. Is that a first? Also (more bizarrely) all Melbourne-born backrow. Also a first you'd think.
Shame only one of them plays in Melbourne these days!
If we actually redistributed our talent, it would do a lot more for results and development for the Aussie teams.

9 Nic White
No offence to White, but this should have been Tate.
4 Rory Arnold
19 Will SkeltonSo Swain and Philip have not even made the bench for the Euro part of the tour, while these two have been completely ineffective.
Well at least Wales are missing about a hundred preferred starters, so she'll be a cripple fight.
-
I've just checked the odds, and apparently Wales are favourites - 4/5 with Oz at 7/5. (I'm not a gambler, just interested in a slightly more objective view than fan sites).
That surprises me a bit. I know the Wallabies are being held together by sticky tape at the moment, but Wales are much the same. And that shambolic display against Fiji has to count for something? Fiji destroyed Wales at the breakdown. We're not ranked 9th in the world for nothing.

I reckon White is too harshly marked by many. I think he's a great player. I mean, i fucking hate him, i hate the way he looks, i hate the mouth and the niggle, and, well, i hate halfbacks
but
He's a fucking competitor, goes hard all game, comes up with a lot of really good play, has zero fear, and he doesn't make that many mistakes for a guy trying as much as he is, playing behind a very inexperienced pack.
He should be nailed on for the Gold 9 jersey in any big game.
-
@mariner4life this isn't against White necessarily - it is more about seeing what the Tate/JOC combo can do.

Agreed - Wales aren't red hot, but they still won and were pretty close against the Boks.
The Wallabies aren't that far away of course, but fuck we've shit the bed on this tour.

Aus by 4-7 in a points fest
Both teams scoring more than 20

Funny this year Quade Cooper appears to be the strong, calm, stabilizing influence the Wallabies miss.
-
@nostrildamus Kerevi and Koroibete's influence as well. Half the backline

Wales play a game pretty similar to the Boks. Given that the Wallabies found a game plan to beat the Boks twice in a row, I would tip them for the win today.

I'm not sure he is the same as Kurtley of yore.
