@nepia he played NZ schoolboys didn't he, which is a little more than dabbled...?
Edit - NZ schoolboys team he played in
I stand corrected, I knew he played Blues but didn't realise he made schoolboys. Put it this way Laumape was always a rugby player who spent a couple of years with the Warriors (IIRC he went to league because the Canes shunned him one year and the next year he made NZ Schools), RTS was always a league player who was apparently good enough to play NZ Schools through sheer talent.

RTS was pretty much a rugby guy coming through, he only joined his school's league team in his last year of school.

I used to post on a league forum where lots of posters were Aucklanders and they were adamant he was from a league family and that he'd always been a league player through his childhood. (But not worth a throwdown over, I'm happy to be wrong).

That's funny because when RTS was still in school, I use to bring him up on the league forums as someone to look out for and no one knew who he was.
His dad was a rugby player and trialed for Manu Samoa, so I don't believe he is from a league family. He also came up playing club rugby for East Tamaki.

@daffy-jaffy Might do. Only saw him at loosehead on Massey's team sheets this year, but Ray Niuia was there at hooker.

@tim There is a picture of Sione Ahio also at training on the Insta story. So that's four Props in the wtg!
Makes sense when you have 3 x AB props that won't be around until right before the season starts

Heard that Jock McKenzie almost broke Beauden Barrett’s Blues bronco record of 4.12 ..not bad for a lad who is in the wider training squad ..

@daffy-jaffy good to see some collaboration happening
