Hey Lomax, great decision to head to the canes eh?
Hasn't he started every game? And isn't this most likely just rotation given the Tahs are the worst team in the comp?
The Hurricanes are the worst NZ team in the competition thus hold the unwanted Wooden Spoon Trophy that also adorns their opponents Trophy Cabinet. Can they risk rotating given the significance of each competition's dunce outfits matching up against each other?

I would have thought Aso was the obvious outside back reserve as he could cover centre and wing. Jules into centre doesn't seem right...
They haven't selected Aso since the Hurricanes last match of SRA 2020 when he bizarrely kept running over the touchline and spilling regulation passes, and I don't blame them as Vince basically cost the Hurricanes 3 certain tries during that match.
I watched Vince play in NPC last year, he's just not very good, and he's injured quite a bit, pretty sure he's only been fit since last month.
That's incorrect. He's played in several Hurricanes Hunters' matches and has been playing club rugby from the start. He's only missed one club game.
He used to be good, but seems to have lost his way since his injuries. It may be the result of lost confidence, bad coaching, lack of game time or all of these things combined.

Wooden Spoon in the NZ comp can come down to one refs decision or penalty kick.
I would truly say that the Canes weren't clearly the worst team, just the one that gathered the least points.
The Tahs however, actually were the worst team in their comp. -
@crucial yeah the Canes weren’t too bad, we had two last second losses to both of the eventual final contenders in the Chiefs and Crusaders despite having little to no experience in our halves.
The NZ comp is brutal, there isn’t much difference in performance from a team that is 2-6 vs a team in the final.

@stargazer add in the fact he was moved around from 12 to 14 to 13 to 14 to 13 etc made it hard for him to cement a spot.
When he burst onto the scene in 2016 he was a gun finisher and I admittedly was a big fanboy. He just seems to have no confidence from the points you have made above so if he leaves I wish him all the best.

Facts schmacts. He was on his way to starting AB tighthead, now he's just a bench player at a bottom team. Can't even get a start against the worst aus team!
-
@bones hey hey hey, Landers will bottom again soon enough. 😜 Infact up until this year the Canes were the only team not to receive a wooden spoon title.
Hope our lads can turn shit around fast.
On Lomax, he looked bloody good at the start of the season but maybe he’s lost a little bit of that form through burn out. Freshening him up against a D-grade Tahs team is a smart move.
-
@canes4life it's pretty neat to let the tahs get a bit of confidence with their first win.

@stargazer sheesh, a lot of names I don’t recognise in that Tahs outfit. Will be interesting, good to see conditions are meant to be perfect for this one after initially looking like shit earlier in the week.

@canes4life wow is this true! how good

Was predicted to piss rain all of today at my place, but mostly sunny morning, overcast afternoon.
The coast is getting smashed right now tho - http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR714.loop.shtml#skip
