I can easily see them dropping a game to the Clan
That's why it will be a great comp I reckon. The Clan did a real number on the Crusaders so who knows what next?
I think admins will be hoping for at least one Aussie win. A 5-0 whitewash will trigger cries of 'here we go again' from both sides of the Ta$man.
I expect that there won't be a team that gets whitewashed. Even the Tahs may get something in the win column. I also expect a number of people to be surprised at how competitive the two SRAu finalists will be.
the $3.55 i got on the Reds seems fucking ridiculous
According to the TAB, the Reds are the only Oz team with a vague hope.
Canes $1.03
Crusaders $1.08
Chiefs $1.13
Blues $1.14
Highlanders $1.31 -

ESPN seems to disagree, ranking even the Western Force above the Hurricanes and Highlanders.
think the odds were for this weekends matches.. if you want to back espn on their thoughts you could earn a fair bit.. or lose it just as quickly

I think the Kiwi teams are unders, but there's still a very decent chance they all win.
The Force are the upset chance. Chiefs coming off a bruising final, Force plotting the ambush in Perth, time difference, home crowd, etc.
I think that game will be more competitive than many will expect. At very least I'll take a look at the Force at the line (+15.5) at $1.97.

Chiefs could well take a strategy of going for a decent lead with a close to 'A' team then getting the reserves on early. That points spread does look good.

They also have Murphy as the Ref who IMO is out of his depth.
He is so far behind Gardener and Berry who are decent refs. -

anyone got a link to the points system,a nd how the finalists will be decided?
Finally someone posted all the info. Strangely it was the Blues website:
https://blues.rugby/super-rugby-trans-tasman-let-the-anzac-battles-resume/
There is a final at the end of the five-week competition. The leading team has the hosting rights against the second placed team of the 10 competing clubs.
It might be two Australian teams in the final, or two New Zealand or one of each.
Points are as usual – 4 points for a win, 2 points for a draw (there is NO golden point extra time). The bonus points are 1 Point for scoring a minimum three tries more than your opponent; and 1 Point for a loss by seven points or less.
If teams are tied on points, the team to advance will be firstly decided on the side with the most wins in the competition. If still tied it will go to the points for and against differential. In the unlikely situation that there is still a tie, then it will be decided on the side with most tries in all matches; then the differential of tries for and against in all matches, and finally a coin toss.

Not so strange, considering it was the Blues who missed out on the SRA final based on number of wins, and many of their fans being outraged about it, because they thought it was based on points differential.
-
@duluth said in Super Rugby Trans Ta$man:
Who was outraged?
Seemed perfectly fair to me.
Not like it was a boundary countback or something.
-
@stargazer said in Super Rugby Trans Ta$man:
Even the Blues own accounts were quite salty about it.
You thought this was serious??
