NRL 2021

Geeeet fuuuucked
We were shit and deserved it. That team tonight was 16 ordinary players and RTS.
Seriously, our entire plan is give it to Roger and hope something works. Our halves just shovel the ball on to a forward, who sometimes throws a bad pass. Did we create even one overlap today?
DCE had a phenomenal game. His work rate was huge, his kicking game, his defence and his desire got Manly home there.
That was shit and we were shit. Deservedly stuck in the 6pm Friday curtain raiser spot.

Actually though Montoya and Pompey were ok as well, one of those of course failed an HIA. No creativity and our senior half only interested in the last 5 minutes and an incredibly poor effort from middles and second row. All culminating in exactly what you said, either give it to Roger or we will just forget what to do on tackle 4 or 5.
Our wingers have been so poor this year, when Egan who is too calm for his own good, starts screaming at the Fus to get into position you know shit is bad.
I know Manly are shit, but we should have won that, however the old inconsistent, drift in and out of game bullshit crept in.. fuck i would hate to be a coach.
At least bunty back next week, but seriously need a few more troops back if that is the best we can offer

Lol this highly hyped game has carried on from the last, so many errors from both sides.
-
@dice Haha it's harder to lose to Manly than it is to beat them. The Warriors don't know how use the ball when going wide. All they do his hit it up for 5 tackles and hope RTS can pull something off somewhere during the set, and they lack direction from their halves.
If they knew how to perform a second man play effectively, they would have won that game quite comfortably, but their basic gameplan kept the Sea Eagles in it and it cost them.
-
Penrith beat Canberra pretty easily.
So.much niggle. Penrith players carried on like cocks for much of the 2nd half. A lot of mouth.

I bet @Snowy was watching
Not taking the rap for that one. Was at the pub and didn't even know it was on. I'm guessing this isn't actually our year then?

The Warriors really miss Hiku, feels weird saying that as I didn't like him for years, but he's guaranteed to put a wing in at least once or twice a match.
-
I have a theory that we can't do those 2nd man plays as well as most because our fullback isn't a sweeping runner like nearly every other #1 in the comp. He's playing through the middle which would be great if the rest of our team could do that, like Tedesco and the Roosters.

Anyone else watch the Tigers v Cowboys yesterday? Remarkable and fun game of footy, and the quitessential "game of two halves"
The first half the Cowboys were awesome, Drinkwater had the ball on a string, and the lead was huge. The second half was all Tigers as they made a massive comeback to have a chance at the win. Yes some of the defense was shoddy, but the attack at times was awesome. High entertainment
Penrith are scary good. Yes they are having a decent run with injuries, but they look really tough to beat.
The Roosters should be dead and buried given the troops they have out, and the injuries they keep picking up, but there they are, 2nd.
Melbourne are a top 4 side again, they toyed with the Dogs on the weekend.
St George are 4-1? With that coach and that roster? The new rules are not the reason for the blow outs, it's just that teams loaded up with average players can no longer drag the game to a standstill to keep the score close. The quick games just show the variation in talent available. And it's all on your halves this year.
-
How are the dragons actually good this year...
It's a fairly weak team...
-
The warriors problem this year is they have no attacking threat. Just stop RTS and they can't score.
Egan & O'Sullivan offer no attacking threat. And kodi just runs across field.
They can make lots of meters they just can't finish plays of.
Is it worth trying kodi in hooker? Becuase he used to play there...

Play Kodi like a damian cook. Use his speed out of play the balls to open the defence up then get rts on that back of that to put the wingers in.

@mackerzzzz It's Anthony Griffin. I said to a lot of people I know that the Dragons will do well this year because Griffin will sort their leaky defence out (which a lot of them laughed at me) and so far, he has proven me right. He did well at Penrith before getting shafted there and I've backed him from the beginning to do well at the Dragons.
You can just see in their attitude towards it with their linespeed and their willingness to cover their mate as was shown last night when they dragged Ferguson and Sivo into touch multiple times, the positive effect that Griffin has had on them.
-
Finaly!
-
@african-monkey Griffin is a good coach who is by all accounts a hard task master who focuses on system. That was going to be good for the Dragons given what they had before him. His problem is he loses the players by making them work too hard, and seems to have a ceiling of what he can get out of a team. It looks like he is the coach you hire right before your "premiership coach".
-
@mariner4life Oh yeah definitely he's never gonna take a team to a premiership, but he'll get his sides competing and playing finals footy regularly which is a good fit for the Dragons right now.
He's a bit like Madge at the Tigers in terms of how hard he works his players. Some thrive off it, a lot hate it.
-
@mackerzzzz Their problems run far deeper that Anthony Milford tbh.
