Bledisloe Two: Auckland, October 18

My team would be:
Moody
Coles
Ofa
Pat T
Whitelock
Akira
Cane
Sotutu
Smith
Beauden
Clarke
ALB
Goodhue
Jordan
JordieTJP, Rieko and RM covering the backs. All three can provide spark against tired legs. Ardie can do the same in the loose after the big blokes have worn them down.
Looking for Pat T, Akira and Sotutu to do what they did for the Blues and play really aggressive rugby on both attack and defense. That paired with Cane should give us plenty of mongrel up front.
Then last 20 we speed up the game with 2x playmakers and bring in Rieko at centre to wreck some havoc.

Stormey is in my top five players ever
Wait, what? That you got away with this for 30 posts is almost as astounding.
Come on. He threw a great pass to Cullen for a try back in 96.......all he had to do was beat 7 Scots defenders, but that try was ALL Stormy.
-
Ha ha. Not in my top five All Blacks, but top five favorite players.
I’m a Waikato fan who played 13/12 and went through HS while he was playing. After uni, I then lived in Japan and was here from 2004 - 2009 when he was one of the better players running around the Top League.
He was awesome and I forgive him for not playing for TA sports.
But he’s a bit of a crap defensive coach from what we’ve seen so far.

@gt12
6 Tuipulotu
7 Coles
8 CaneThe bruiser, the nuggety game breaker and the difference maker.
In terms of body weight to height ratio, isn’t Lomax the ideal number 8? Closest to Hayman we’ve seen in awhile.

That would leave us without a specialist hooker.

forgive me my slumbers and this possibly crazy suggestion. If he is not currently injured, is Boshier an actual possible replacement at 6? His tackling stats seem pretty good, gets around the park, great workrate, and he would be a relatively new ingredient as far as the Wallabies, but not in terms of Cane.
NB I simply don't understand why they put DM at 15 ahead of JB when they could have played specialist wingers in position. -

Our game isn’t built kick chasing or enough workload as we don’t have ball enough, so when we do have it, we need our wingers to be strike weapons. Plus, as we live without the ball, they have to be safe under the high ball. The only player currently going around who meets those needs is Clarke.
Will Jordan has a quick look to see who scored the most tries in SRA and thinks, "Fuck, I must be shit under the high ball"!

I didn't watch him much but CF Snr says he spent a significant amount of time on the wing. He's a big fast unit, Fozzie obviously thinks the ABs are awesome enough not to need one of the form outsides of SRA

Fair point. Clarke plays in 14.
What’s next?
You're not getting it, Foster wants specialists.
Clarke is locked in at 12.
No, the solution is to put Ardie there. It’s time.
Now we're getting somewhere, I guess Clarke can shuffle out. So we're getting close to completing the Fozzie specialist backline:
9 DMac
10 Perenara
11 Beauden
12 Savea
13 Clarke
14 Jordie
15 Bridge.About right?
Utterly ridiculous. Julian Savea is well past it.....
Oh, you mean Ardie ? As you were

I can see why Fozzie doesn't like Will Jordan - he's inexperienced. I'm sure Fozzie will pick him once he's got 20 international caps under his belt.
In fairness to Fozzie, I'm not convinced that rushing young guys into the starting line-up is the way to go. There's been a few that we've ruined over the years by throwing them in the deep end. Ideally, you ease them into the team with games against a few lesser lights (this year, the Argies).
But, you also need plenty of people who offer significant offensive threat so that they can't just heavily mark a few players.
Thinking about Sunday's team, I reckon we telegraphed plenty of plans to Rennie - who doubtless knows plenty about our players anyway.
Mo'unga is going to take it to the line - smash him - hard and often.
Bridge and Jordie on the wings - they're going to kick and contest. Make sure we get plenty of blockers in.
Rieko - he's a green centre, run some deception at him.
But, overall, our main attack weapons were Richie and Rieko - the others are more glue guys (DMac's a bit of a wild card). Not enough firepower.

Foster clearly went for experience, and minimal disruption to the backline after BB's withdrawal. You can question whether the right experienced players were picked in each position but that is a different argument.
Those calling for Jordan to start only need to look at the Crusaders. When Ennor and Havili were fit, he wasn't starting for them either.
