@mariner4life 6 forward bench. Looking to bash them?
yes. repeatedly. for 80 minutes.
the quick guys out wide will feed off that. bliss.

Great article. "Eliminate errors" and "don't be stupid" could have been covered off in 2 paragraphs, but a sperminating thrashwank of a victory over Ireland had to be flogged out of the author first.
Well done.

I can see the value in starting Ardie at 8 for the first game given its a Bledisloe. Sotutu still has work to do on his skills at the boot of the scrum - I could see Rennie seriously targeting him there.
Are you seriously suggesting that it makes sense to pick a specialist 7 at 8 because you're concerned about our specialist 8's control at the back of the scrum?!

@mariner4life is Mauger with the 6:2 split.
damn right. Tests are won up front. Token back replacements are rarely required. B Barrett is there for impact with his pace later on.
This is why Ioane and the good Barretts make such a difference to out match day squad - we've basically got every position in the backline covered twice over. It's a really good place to be.

I'd be happy to see this. I've kinda gotten bored of playing the Wallabies at the adult equivalent of ripper rugby. I don't think it's served either country well when playing other opposition.

He's not a specialist 7 - he's started a heap of games at 8.

He's certainly less of a specialist 8 than the guy who you say doesn't have enough control at the back of the scrum

It must be remembered Sotutu was essentially a Super Rugby rookie this year (he played all of about 10 minutes last year) - there is plenty of room for development and growth in his game - obviously he's developed a hell of a lot in the last 12 months.

@KiwiMurph I think you're searching pretty hard if you see issues with his ball control at the back of the scrum, certainly not something I'd noticed when he was constantly making ridiculous metres or spot on passes. How would Rennie target that anyway?

Surprised that anyone who watched the last two years of rugby would want Laulala to start. Must be keen on jogging into contact and missing tackles.
I'm surprised anyone who watched the last two years of rugby would still bang on about Beauden's pace and game breaking ability.

He's been reasonably tidy this year. He did have a poor game at the base of the scrum vs Wellington. Which was the last game of rugby he played
