I guess everyone has to be somewhere.
Thought of the week.

HAWKE'S BAY (as in the HB Today)
15 K. Baker 14 L. Visinia 13 S. Ili 12 D. Toala 11 J. Lowe 10 L. McClutchie 9 F. Fakatava
8 D. Flanders 7 B. O'Connor 6. M. Mikaele-Tu'u 5. T. Parsons 4. G. Cridge 3. J. Apikotoa 2. A. Dixon (capt) 1. P. Rakete-Stones
16 K. Kereru-Symes 17. J. Long 18. J. Hintz 19. I. Walker-Leawere 20. G. Evans 21. C. McLeod 22. C. Makene 23. O. Sapsford
Same starting 15 as played Canterbury.
One change on the bench - Kereru-Symes for Devery (injured).
-
@Number-10 No reason to change the squad after last week's win. Good to see that Kereru-Symes has recovered from the shoulder niggle that kept him out of last week's 23. I love Ash and he has been immense for us, but Kianu needs more game time. If - heaven forbid - Dixon gets injured, Kianu will be seriously undercooked if he doesn't get more minutes.

@Crucial @Stargazer Maybe not as I think there is some rule applicable to the Ranfurly Shield that defences can only be made between certain dates. The last was initially up until the end of September but that got changed a few years back to the first weekend in October. Thus there may not be no more challenges sanctioned. Remember the saga of North Auckland refusing to accept challenges after they took the Shield from Manawatu many years back. A precedent has been set that not all home games of new Holders need necessarily be deemed to have the Shield at stake!
Stargazer is bound to be up to date on the rules in this instance so we will await his proclamation. -

Hmmm, something tells me I've bitten off a bit more than I can chew.

That's my understanding too, as the dates of the NPC often changes. Playoff games are excluded.

When ioane tell you to cut back YOU CUT BACK

Gotta say, what a disappointing crowd..

@Steven-Harris yeah, would have thought a shield defence would have got a few more to turn up
It doesn’t actually look too bad for an Otago game historically though I would have thought
