@cyclops I see it as$199usd rather than 110nzd. Am I missing something?
Sorry, it must have gone up since I last checked it. Bugger.
looks like if you VPN to another location, it's more like 75USD...

Yeah far too expensive when the games aren't on at good times. You'd need to be a die hard and/or have a lot of daylight down time to kill.
Delay is great times if you have a young fmaily - no one spoils regular season games, and watching in the evening means you can skip the ad breaks. Games in under 2 hours FTW

There is a stupid amount of money in the foozball over there... Great drone piloting tho.
It's an apex sport. one of the reasons I watch - it's got effectively unlimited coaching/support work ... and super specialised positions, analytics up the wazoo. Fantastic fun

Ha, a neat example of the sometimes counterintuitive intricacies of the NFL in today's Jets-Eagles preseason game. The eagles threw away a winning position by scoring.
The jets were trailing by 1 with no time outs and just over a minute to go; they were trying to run the 2 minute drill to set up a field goal. The eagles make a nice defensive stop with an interception and the defender takes it to the house. The jets then get the ball back from the kick off with about 50 seconds left and manage to throw a hail mary to set up the 2 point conversion attempt to tie the game... which they make. No OT in preseason so finishes a tie.
If the eagles defender had just stepped out of bounds after making the pick, the offence comes onto the field takes a couple of knees, game over. Although the eagles probably should have gone for 2 after they scored.
None of this has any relevance to the regular season (except that maybe Eagles head coach Sirianni might be a bit conservative in his game management, but even then he might have been wanting to get his kicker as much game time practice as possible), but just the kind of 4d chess that makes me love the NFL.

Jesus the Texans are a dumpster fire. They trade a starting LB and a 7th for Shaq Lawson plus a 6th. They restructure his deal to make 7m salary a signing bonus, then trade him for a 6th to the Jets.
This means that they Jets have a low tier starting edge for under $1m this year and an non guaranteed 9m next year. And the Texans have a 6th round pick. And best of all; the 6th round pick is actually the 49ers (from another trade) so it's looking likely to be a mid to late round 6th rounder.
In summary; the Texans will pay 7m against the cap for someone who never saw a regular season start for them. Can a team get negative wins?

@cyclops Texans must be short odds to have the number 1 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Today the 49ers rotated Jimmy G and Lance coming in and out on the same drive and it worked well (against backups). Will be interesting to see what they do in the regular season.

Patriots with the big move as the release Cam Newton
Fuck that is some fall for Cam

I think he'll get a job elsewhere, but he appears to be a shadow of his former self. And Belicheck likes an accurate pocket passer, which is what Jones appears to be capable of

Perhaps if Cam got vaccinated he wouldn't have got cut.
Lots of these guys are choosing not to. Pretty selfish as if they fail the protocols and the team default a game all of the players lose their pay
