One thing I only found out is that there are no finals? Just like Premier League? If that is the case, I quite like that but I also like finals footy.
Timing critical, to leave room for the ABs I suspect ... the big money spinner

I do like that as it means you can't just limp into the semis and then win the thing, you need to perform every weekend

Chiefs $1.71
Blues $2.05That is frustrating. After last weeks performance from both these teams I would have Blues favourites despite the loss of that red headed chap.
Blues 13+ could even be a good bet.
Noooo, Chiefs are unbackable favourites
Take the $1:70 then! That is excellent value.
I don't get the you are favourites, no you are favourites thing. At a full house in Hamilton, I would expect a good showing by us but given the two performances last weekend, only a fool would look at the Chiefs and think they are the better of the two based on performance.
Just joking.
Home advantage does still seem to be a thing, and that has been the Blues biggest weakness over the past five years (away wins).
So if we do win, and we are getting regular away wins, that will be a massive corner turned.

spot on. I'm ok without the stupid golden point either, just most wins get the trophy (or ties with other teams)

It has a 100% strike rate so far in this version of the comp I agree, if you touch us up this weekend, it will be between you and Canterbury

I'm just happy the result is not a foregone conclusion. Sport is incredibly dull when that happens.

Both home teams won last week. I doubt that will happen this week but not impossible.
Chiefs will be better, and at home so odds are probably about right.
Whats on offer for the other match?

You've been on here long enough to know that the little brown shaded bit go out of their way not to pick players from the large yellow bit on the east coast.

Ah true. Ben and I are linked, we both went to the Chiefs at the same time ... he just played a more active role.

All Black loose forwards Dalton Papalii and Akira Ioane return to the Blues starting line-up for Saturday’s second round of the Investec Super Rugby Aotearoa against the Chiefs in Hamilton. They are the only changes from the team that accounted for the Hurricanes 30-20 in the first-round clash at Eden Park. Papalii, who came off the bench last week, starts at No 7 while Ioane, with 68 Blues caps to his credit, comes in at No 6 replacing Blake Gibson and Tom Robinson respectively, who are both unavailable due to injury. The Blues have the same front five but are bolstered with the return of North Harbour’s Sione Mafileo, one of the standouts earlier in the season, who will earn his 50th cap off the bench. The trio of in-form Hoskins Sotutu, Papalii and Ioane will form a potent trio in what should be a pivotal battle at the breakdown. The backline remains unchanged with Otere Black, who celebrated his blazer game for the Blues in the win over the Hurricanes, remains at first-five with Beauden Barrett again starting at fullback, to form an exciting back four with Rieko Ioane at centre and wings Caleb Clarke and Mark Telea. Coach Leon MacDonald said while a several other players have pushed their claims for selection at training, that the efforts last week warranted their retention. “We know that last week was a good start but that we will need to get better if we want a positive result against the Chiefs,” said MacDonald. “The players who took the field will be better for that experience, especially understanding the importance of discipline at the breakdown and getting back into competition after so long off. “We know that depth will be really important in this competition and we are fortunate to have the likes of Dalton and Akira to come into the starting line-up. Parts of our play were good last week but we must lift to another level against what we know is a very good and very physical Chiefs side as well as a healthy rivalry with our neighbours.”

also, can we stop referring to guys with a solitary cap 3 years ago as an "All Black"? In these modern times, that means diddly.
