Team Jumbo-Visma: George BennettTom Scully might make EDF - can't see that team anywhere.. Sam Bewley was 9th choice for M-S so missed out due to riders being reduced to 8. Jack Bauer did the Giro so doesn't sound like he was considered.
I can feel it in my cockles that Paddy Bevin is gonna go close to a victory this year! only thing that's gonna screw him is that everyone knows who he is and his turn of speed after he blasted Sagan at TDU this year..

@WillieTheWaiter I think you mean Team EF (Education First)? He belongs to that team but he's not on the start list.

Best visuals, best coverage
Fuck, yes.
Those helicopter flyovers of the French countryside are perfect for a freezing winter evening at home. I point to the TV and say to Mrs TA: "See that? We're going full campervan around Europe before we're too fucking old! Kids? Why the fuck would I want those cock-blockers along?"
(Side note: The Boy is now 15 and his school is offering assistance for a trip to Europe next year as part of their art/drama/music curriculum. Little shit isn't interested... both his parents are... ungrateful little dick just wants to sit on the couch playing Dragonball Z)
Bad parenting.
I’ve met Mrs NTA she’s lovely.
The blame is squarely on you.

And no Cav. I think he’s done his dash now. Dimension Data have gone with a sprinter, a half in form and fit Cavendish would wipe the floor with 99 / 100 times.
Still, 30 TdF stage wins is not to be sniffed at.
the annual 2.4 million quid paycheck would soften the blow a bit...
but yeh bit of a shame he didn't come back for one last decent nudge. I always thought he was a bit of a twat but then read his book and he actually came across alright.
most interesting bit was that all the 'testing' he'd ever done suggested that he shouldn't even be a decent amateur.. yet look at his results!
wonder if he'll have a crack at the olympics next year -
Nailing my colours to a mast. I'll be following Greg van Avermaert and the CCC team because they ride Giants and have a kiwi.

I'll be following Jumbo because George is effectively second in line for GC if the number 1 goes down and is considered to still be a top 10 GC prospect and this tour is one where climbers like him will shine
Not this time, apparently.
George is one of the few that didn't finish the first stage with the peleton - four minutes down and already out of contention (I haven't seen or read anything that he crashed, so assuming losing time on purpose). That bodes well that if Kruiswijk doesn't do well, George will get a chance somewhere to ride for a stage win.

Edit: and with a bit more research, I see that he's been credited just 10 seconds down, so he must have been involved in the same crash inside 2kms of the finish that took down Groenwagen and others.

Yep they were together when it happened

Massive performance by TJV to set the next three weeks up for Kruiswijk and Bennett to take advantage of. They had to tow George for most of that. Being a little 58kg weed isn’t much help in a TT.
Going into Stage 3 with 20 seconds on Ineos is an excellent position to be in. Only trouble is that they are expected to lead now.
Mention for Paddy Bevan as well. His CCC team are only 10 secs behind the Ineos boys as well.
