Hurricanes 2020

So the Canes for the spoon next year? How have we become such a disappointment that we’ve attracted ex Blues players that obviously didn’t cut it in Auckland. What happened to the quality first five that was promised for next year?
Heads have to roll at the Canes now, they’ve made too many stupid decisions lately in both selection and recruitment. The fans deserve better.
@Stargazer there goes any chance of McClutchie getting a run.
-
Edit: ... unless they ditch Fletcher Smith.
-
I'll get in before Stargazer and ponder that Lincoln McLutchie must have been unavailable. There were also strong whispers that Jono Hickey had been signed for the Lions for 2019 and the HUrricanes for 2020 so either that has run out of fuel or the Canes management are still sitting on that wonder signing. And are they still short of financial resources that resulted in the demise of Carlos Spencer...............................
-
@Stargazer If he was you would think he would have been a better option than a guy that has been given a chance and not exactly made a good fist of it. I am referring to S Hickey and not JGB by the way, although it could apply equally to both players in reality. Come to think of it Callum Harkin must be feeling a bit put out not getting the call up ahead of anyone given the Hurricanes selectors fondness for locally based players.
-
The Hickey signing was mentioned weeks ago by a TSFer who has a good source.
@Stargazer thought I was trolling when I was repeating it
-
@KiwiMurph I think we’ve already established their moron status from their selections this year and the fact they let the wrong coach go.
-
@Stargazer Have you thought that maybe he’s been signed to replace Marshall covering 10.
While I’m extremely disappointed Mclutchie wasn’t signed I can’t help feel given the fact they let all the talent go somewhere else this doesn’t surprise me.
I actually think this isn’t a bad signing not a playmaker like we need but I’d definitely rate him above Smith and Garden-Bachop.

@Talisker said in Hurricanes 2020:
As an Edinburgh fan I was a bit disappointed in Hickey, he was brought in on a reported big bucks salary but didn’t secure the ten jersey as his own. Good luck to him, though, I hope he goes well for the Hurricanes
Are you new to supporting Scotland ?

Aumua is starting for Avalon this week so I suggest it means he's been dropped from the Canes. I don't get it, he's been better than Coles and probably deserves a chance to start. Oh yeah I forgot, Holland loves his plodder forwards by promoting Riccitelli.
-
@Canes4life Coles may not be on full song but in no way is he a plodder
-
@Machpants was meaning Riccitelli being promoted. (See edited).
If we have the likes of Armstrong, Riccitelli, Prinsep, Blackwell, May etc on the park at the same time we are doomed. You would be hard-pressed to find a more unathletic group of rugby players at this level if you tried.
