@Bovidae if we canβt beat you first up, likely without Retallick, itβs hard to imagine us doing the business at the business end.
On the other hand, based on the results since Rassie came on board, neither sets of fans should be all that confident of winning both games.
The next 3 weeks are going to drag - canβt wait for Yokohama.
Knock out rugby is hard to predict. We only just edged you in 2015, in the end the SF was closer than the final. Both teams will be well up for it, but I suspect we will win the first game based purely on my suspicion that we have been holding back, and that like the Aussie game the team responds well in crunch time. But I would not be surprised if SA won either

@MiketheSnow So you're picking SA to be the first team to lose a pool game but become RWC champs? That would go against history if 2 teams from the same pool meet in the final.
Not out of the realms, or for NZ to lose the pool match and win the final.
Lots of pundits getting excited about England"s prospects but to win the WC they have to beat France, Argentina, Wales/Australia, NZ/SA, NZ/SA
Too tall an order.

Shit, when you put in on paper like that I will be the first to congratulate England if they manage to win with a draw like that

Current odds on the NZ TAB:
NZ 2.25
England 5.00
SA 5.50
Ireland 9.00
Wales 10.00
Australia 13.00
France 26.00
Argentina 41.00
Scotland 41.00Everyone else more than 150.
Wales might be the best value in that.
France a roughie.
The best value is NZ at $2.25. The best longer odds bet is Wales

@Hooroo We haven't seen the team yet - I have informed Steve that I'm available!
I'm so pumped for the announcement even though I am going to be unhappy with a couple of selections as I think they will take Fafita and Franks a lot

Oh, I agree. This is the most open RWC in the professional era.
My problem is, so far the RWC winners have all been undefeated in the tournament and I'd like it to remain that way.

I'm doubtful on that. You see, when I rang Steve he just said, "The call from Nelson I've been waiting for. Fantastic news, you're in Liam".
And then my phone battery died.
I just hope Liam rang after I did....

England at 5 a standout for me.

The Headmaster returns! (or should that be Tedmaster)
Canada will have a Webb Ellis Cup winner in their midst for the upcoming Rugby World Cup. Head Coach Kingsley Jones has enlisted the help of Sir Graham Henry, the former All Blacks supremo, as an advisor for the upcoming tournament that kicks off next month. The 73-year-old recently spent a week with the team in Fiji and will stick with the outfit through their time in Japan. -
The French Refs will need to check with the TMOs before giving Red Cards for high tackles.

Um. Pretty sure the barrett red card did go via the tmo...

Yeah it did - at least for Kermit (muppet frog) to rule on it.

In fact, I struggle to think of any red card that the ref has given without asking first for a TMO review.

Maybe Wayne Barnes Jamie Heaslip vs mccaw. Think he went red without asking.
