Ireland hanging on a bit at the end of that half, Wallabies finishing strong only to be undone by incompetent reffereing.
Sets up a very interesting 2nd half. Irelands bench could end up deciding the match though.
Yep. Backline are disconnected. Carbery not authoritative enough.

Lynagh says in halftime remarks that a hint of a forward pass by Genia for the try.
But Australia deserve their HT lead.
-
Gee these ads are terrible. The Wallabies used to have some cool ads back in the day. That Land Rover one had a young Michael Hooper strapping on tape in what looked like Fritzel's dungeon.
-
"You're diving in there like a swimming pool." Classic.
-
Fucking really? Penalised for tackling a dummy runner? That's ridiculous.
-
They can't overturn for that surely? That is pathetic
-
Common sense has left the building.
-
Glad it’s an SA ref making that call.

I don't get why Pocock always gets rag dolled. He's built like a tank and lower to the ground. Is he really slow?
It is weird. You'd expect him to be like Nonu but he ain't.
-
Gee I hope Ireland win after that spat by Phil Kearns.

Yeah or Mealamu. A nugget wrecking ball. He's bigger than Hooper, but Hooper runs km more than him.

Haha Aussie comms going full retard. Pretty simple, you can't tackle a guy who doesn't, and never did, have the ball. I don't give a shit if you thought he was going to get it. The fact he held him down afterwards just reinforces it.
If tackling a dummy runner is now illegal than the game will be littered with penalties. Basically every backline move will result in one.

But NZ third official.

Even better. 😏

Is a neck roll not a YC? Thought they were clamping down on them.

TMO said he let go so it was penalty only.

Nah what Coleman did doesn’t happen that often. He picked the wrong man and then drove him into the ground and held him down. It was a simple cut out ball from Ireland that was completely misread. Poor play.
