Finished S2 of Sweet Tooth, still good, probably not as good as S1 as more was set in a single location (the Essex Zoo aka Auckland Zoo)
Was funny seeing a scene at Eden Park with it overgrown and in disrepair!

... is this due to the current studio execs being of the generation where they're especially nostalgic for the 80s
... and if so... does that mean the 1990s are coming up? And is that going to be good or bad?It’ll be less hard to notice that’s for sure. I think there was a thread on it. I mean the 80s had tassels, double denim, bright colours, big hair etc. Not sure the 90s had as much to really set it apart.
Not to mention if Marty and Doc went from 2023 to 1993 ( todays equivalent of 1985 to 1955 ) what music would he shock the 90s with at the school dance ?

Perry Mason Just finished season 2.
Thought it great - well paced, acting was great and very little padding.
Roll on Series 3.

Did you think it was better than season 1? I wasn't a big fan despite watching the entire season (probably due to Mathew Rhys and Tatiana Maslany).

I think so, though I haven't watched them back-back.
The characters are a wee bit cliche but the writing and acting is v. good and the back-stories are filled-in and that's really well done. Plot unfolding and overall feel was a bit like LA Confidential - no bad thing.
Juliet Rylance & Justin Kirk were great.

I'm 3 into it, and is enough for me to keep going, I think I know whats going on (ep 3 showed I am probably right) but guess I'll have to keep watching to find out

@voodoo yeah I only recently noticed there was another season of The Great, that it is, so got that to watch with Mrs TR after we just finished The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, which is decent enough, but not one I'd bother with if Mrs TR wasn't watching too.

I absolutely loved the first 4 seasons of TMMM - devoured it. Mrs Voodoo discovered S5 recently and started watching, and I came in halfway through - can't believe what they have done with it, absolute butchers job. S4 Finale was great, and it's like they totally ignored it so they could eke out a few more episodes. Then they've added the different time era's just to cover the fact that they ran of decent plot lines?
They should have ended it at S4

@taniwharugby I read these books, which were excellent. So far it's been a faithful adaption, very enjoyable. I'd watch Rebecca Ferguson read the phone book though.

I really like TMMM. @voodoo Didn't like the way this season was going due to as mentioned in another thread I dislike change, until I learnt that it was the final season and now am really enjoying what it's doing with that context. @dogmeat I don't think it's jumped the shark at all.
I'm waiting for all eps of Silo to be available before starting. I thought all eps of TMMM were available until I went to watch one last night and there none available.

Yeah give it a shot, I think it takes time to tune into the change, maybe you wont but may as well try.
Unlike some, I've liked the Ted Lasso change from out and out comedy to dramedy, but I didn't like it when You're the Worst did it and eventually gave up.

Succession - finale
Yeah - pretty good. Very well executed. The final few conversations/arguments about "who's it gonna be?" were slightly tiresome - but I guess it fed into the episode being a perfect little summary of the entire series... with a focus on the Family, rather than external factors.
Yeah. Nicely done, the more I think about it. -

Which season are you on? I thought S1 was, um, great, but was disappointed with S2 to the point I'm weighing up whether to watch the recently released S3.

Done and dusted, but what the fuck. Still the same great characters but just ramped up the bizarre throughout the last season to it's final implosion in the ultimate episode.
Was great fun the first couple of seasons at least.

Apart from the educational part that almost all French resistance fighters were black as were the Brit SOE operatives and all the people rescuing Jews were gay or rich liberal Democrats, it was all a bit shit.

I've been recommended this multiple times and I watched a few episodes of the first season but couldn't get into it. I really don't like the girl on the right of the pic (her character I guess, never seen her in anything else to know if it's just her), but Hannibal Buress is in it and he's quite funny.
I'll probably give it another try in the future though.
