@cgrant He also indicated that for the November test series to be successful for France, they must win at least three of their four test matches. That means beating Japan, South Africa, and NZ at least once. If not, he will 'take his responsibilities'.

'Taxi for Laporte, taxi for Laporte'
Based on their Series drubbing in SA they'll do well to record two wins.

@Tim That sounds like a bad joke. Lyon? Finished only 10th in the Top 14 last season. Geezus, why couldn't they play Clermont?
Edit: I shouldn't have read the Newshub article. This NZH says "a French selection" to be played in Lyon. I'd like to know whether they'll use the French Barbarians for that match.
Nothing confirmed on the FFR website or social media; nothing on All Blacks website yet either.

Keeps getting reported as a second Test.
Guessing they agreed to this, if true, given they're playing Scotland afterwards.

@Stargazer Cheers - looks like "not yet". Which is what I suspected, and I need to let my local-to-work publican know, as he was looking at buying tickets from some bloody dodgy looking websites. Oh well - another pub-lunch it is.
Scotland game - tickets went on sale on the 3rd July, sold out within the day. But put myself in the queue wanting only a single sad loner ticket, there might be a chance. -
Anyone going to Murrayfield? I missed the ticket allocation but seats on viagogo aren't too bad. Accommodation isn't under pressure either but still looking at a £G all up with travel from London.
I'm very tempted only because I know what fun Edinburgh is on a Test weekend from when I used to live there. -
Also - gotta love the French, they really don't give a shit - or they just love annoying the English.
Switch the website to "English" mode, and sure - the header and footer turn to English... but the main content... nope. You speak francais, or fuck-a le-off, stupid island-monkey. -

viagogo
Isn't viagogo a scam site? I've heard heaps of warnings against them.
viagogo itself isn't a scam site, but you can get unlucky and have some prick selling fake tickets, or rather - the same ticket to a hundred different people.

The SRU list them as the official resale site for tickets.
I have brought gig tickets on there but am very wary on buying any that aren't physical tickets that will be sent out well beforehand. I don't like the idea of going all the way to a show or game to collect a ticket that isn't there and having to deal with the bullshit afterwards. I certainly would arrange to meet someone on the day.
The ones I have done I received the physical tickets a few days after purchase. It is common now that bands will have in their contract that they will receive a decent ticket allocation which they then sell online after the official sales have sold out.

Yeah I got my Italy tickets there last year and it worked out ok...seemed dodgy though as was just a printout from a link we got sent!

Wear a replica jersey = get laid. Fucking french, in all senses of the word. -

Happened to my parents who spent about $2.5k on tickets to see Adele in Auckland, which turned out to be fake.
Viagogo's response was basically GFY, we're just the middle men, not responsible.
They're a dodgy shell corporation headquartered in Switzerland, and provide a platform that give crooks carte blanche to defraud people with zero recourse. You'd be mad to buy anything through them in my opinion, it's just a massive roll of the dice.

Ah, yeah - that sucks. And their policy on that sort of thing sounds like it could be better, although I'm not sure what else they can do.
I've been caught out once for a gig ticket - don't think it was viagogo, but one of the other popular ones - I think seatwave, which is actually ticketmaster. Turned up - with the same ticket that about 60 other people had turned up with.
My problem was, that I had 1 genuine ticket I'd bought for myself ages ago, and 1 fake ticket bought "2nd-hand" when I found out a mate would be in town... so even if I could get the money back from the fake - I was still fucked (should have just gone in myself and left my mate at the pub, but was too annoyed to even find enjoyment in being an ass) The venue gave me a "note" to help if I did try to get money back from seatwave, but I couldn't even be arsed doing that.
So yeah - it's a gamble, but I'm not sure how much I can blame the companies... even if they insisted on scanning the QR or barcode of each ticket being sold - some fluffybunny could just sell the same ticket on 4 different websites (sure - reduce the profit margins hugely, but to the poor fluffybunnies who get to the venue 2nd/3rd/4th - not much comfort)
And in general - fuck touts. If I turn up to a gig with extra tickets because I don't have any mates, I refuse to even sell them to touts. I've given free tickets to people talking to touts, rather than give those fluffybunnies any benefit. -
On the touts...
I live nearby Twickenham so when i want to watch a match I just go down and watch a tout.
As soon as they hook a spare seat I just swoop in and say "I'm a real rugby fan and will pay a fair price for the ticket" the touts look filthy at me but fuck them and the horse they rode in on.
They just wander off as it's not in their interest to make a scene and I get into the match.
Works pretty well and people are generally happy to know who is sitting beside them. (As the ticket is generally a mate who didn't turn up so your gonna spend a whole game with them)
Watched plenty of great games that way.
