I just read on Twitter that Scott Robertson has confirmed that Whetu Douglas will be available to play for the Crusaders next week against the Hurricanes.I just read that Whetu Douglas' missus is on his case as he's supposed to be helping sort their move to Italy so he is no longer available.

Bateman has played well when he has got on the park. Had a great game against the Waratahs in Sydney (two tries). Important to mix it up so fresh, hungry guys get a chance. Adds spark I think.
Crotty has played 8 games this season so I don't think he needs game time. He's first the first name down in the All Black midfield so I have no qualms with him not playing this weekend.

Fair call. I haven't been watching the Saders games but just assumed Bateman was the same shite he was at the Canes.
So do you think he learned to play in Japan or was it all Hammett's fault? -

Bateman has been excellent this year and deserves the start.

I read the same - final para. Earlier it sounded like he would be available.
On paper, that Crusaders' starting XV looks a bit vulnerable.
Six or seven changes from our strongest line-up I think. A bit of cavalry on the bench.

So do you think he learned to play in Japan or was it all Hammett's fault?I'd say it was Hammett, Bateman was bloody good for the Crusaders in his original stint there.
