Blues are definitely better ,
Listening to them trying to put the daggers into tana today on radio sport was unfair I thought ,
I can see progress even if it isn't reflected in the wins .
Yep, unfair to judge them really until seasons end when they have had thier shot at some foreign teams, as @gunner said above, they are easily a top 8 team, but have to play the 4 top 5 teams home and away....

Also NMS >>>> Goosen.
Really? What's NMS ever done to deserve such high praise?
-
@kiwiinmelb What were they saying? The bottom line is that he hasn't produced wins against NZ teams, and hasn't recruited a 10.

You could never say that about the hammetteur

Over 1m people surely there could be one very good 10
With the Naki now part of the Chiefs, no team aside from the Crusaders start a 10 from inside their franchise borders. Clearly the Blues need to poach better.
Lucky Con Barrett is Canes through and through

@Billy-Tell Goosen is shit, but I'll be ropable if J. Savea is gifted an AB place again this year.
J.Savea has been good this season, just quiet tonight. Goosen was crap but he is still a very good player.

@Kirwan Just a pity he was passing to Gatland who was horrendous.
Yeah, you know it's bad when they move the winger to first receiver.
And Duffie is turning into our Ben Smith.

The thing with Tana is that he has the talent. I'll give him SBW because he wouldn't have come to the Blues otherwise. However, the Ioane brothers, Gibson, Luatua, Pulu, Nanai, Moala, Tuipulotu and Manu probably would have ended up at the Blues anyway. Auckland rugby has produced some good players and Tana is benefiting from it to an extent. I don't know what to make of Tana as a coach. He should be a long way from being sacked.

Canes really missed Proctor tonight. Aso was MIA and they could've done with someone straightening the attack. J. Savea wasn't used enough to change the point of attack.
Blues locks were dynamite. Their work around the field was awesome.
And who was the reserve hooker for the Canes? He's got genuine speed for a big fella. The kick chase he put in down the left wing was fantastic.
What was up with that kick by Perenara with 4 minutes to go. Canes hot on attack and he chips it over to no one. Didn't find touch. Poor play.
Nanai continuing his very good form this year. He mustn't have recovered from that knock to have been taken off.
Still concerning that Pulu far too often waits and watches at the base.
Laumape, AB selection - unless there is a significant improvement in his vision, then no way.

The problem with Tana is that he was not starting players like Scrafton and Nanai, look how good they were today.

Don't know what was going on with Nanai. Probably their best player last season.

Every time he gets on the field he looks AB level. We can't afford not to start him.
We are losing close games, one try from him some of those could be wins.

And can I say what a relief that TJ wasn't the commentator.
Yep, was good to hear Sumo calling out the weaknesses in the Blues game, laying into the lack of continuity and turnovers and not getting whinged at.
Luatua outplayed Savea who was pretty disappointing i thought, completely missing on that last blues try.
Williams outplayed by Laumape, what a muppet play not feeding Nanai on that break. Canes definitely missed Proctor though.
Congratulations to Barrett on getting through a half of rugby without seeing a card.
Jordie's set piece kicking is ace eh, but his phase kicking is a bit naff.
Jane should have been on at half time at least...

Have no problem with a commentator calling what he sees, just irritating when it's wrapped in a condescending tone and he doesn't apply it to the other team.
TJ is terrible when he gets a Blues game.
