Black Caps v Pakistan

Really really rubbish by the sounds of it.

anyone hear the radio breaky show? They had Doull on and he was thinking that Wagner and Neesham would miss out. That was his take on things but Nathan and co reckoned he had the good oil. Seems tough on Wagner but if the wicket stays green then Southee, Boult and Henry are the best choice?

I'll nbe gutted for him if that is the case as he has been our best bowler recently
-
Agree 100%, I think Wagner is actually pretty good in any conditions. Sure he won't get the swing that Boult or Southee will (but he can reverse it), but the man is a weapon and never gives up. We need someone bringing that kind of heat in our team.
-
He is what Australian cricket isn't at the moment, Tough!!!
-
I'd go with Boult - Henry - Wagner. Boult and Henry are new ball bowlers, we need someone like Wagner as our third seamer. Southee is a liability at the moment.
-
Also I don't think our tour of India was the failure a lot of people seem to be making out. Yeah we losts the tests but we also lost two crucial tosses - we win the toss in both of those matches and it's a lot closer. Then we nearly won our first series ever in India in the ODIs on the back of a couple of very impressive victories (though the last ODI was a bust).
Not a success, but I'd give us a par score overall given the players available and how tough it is to beat India at home.

That would be a terrible choice. Wagner doubter come Wagmer lover, here.
Pitches don't stay the same for 5 days. We've already made this mistake a few times in the last few years and within a test or two Wagner is back making the selectors look foolish. Actually it's not the selectors as Wagner is in the squad or in the 12 for home tests. It's the coach and captain chosing the playing 11 from that.
The Hesson/selection golden glow is fading.
De Grandhomme for Neesham? That is a pure Hail Mary.
Btw. I'd just drop Southee for Henry.

Currently chucking it down at Hagley at the moment if Cricinfo comments are conrrect

You'd sort of think Doull would have an inside track on information, but I'm pretty sceptical they would pick de Grandhomme ahead of Neesham, unless Neesham isn't fit to bowl.
Doull's batting line-up would be:
Latham, Raval, Williamson, Taylor, Nicholls, de Grandhomme, Watling, Astle, Henry, Southee, Boult
That lower middle order is green as grass - along with having Raval debuting at the top.
Selectors not doing as well since Bruce Edgar departed.
-
yeah I heard that interview, it did sound very much like he knew but was playing it off as he thought that was what they'd go with...also said Southee had been struggling with an ankle injury, which begs the question why keep playing him if he was struggling with an injury that was clearly affecting performance?
-
Kane has won a toss. Well actually Misbah lost it and unsurprisingly we're having a bowl.
Jeet Raval and Colin de Grandhomme both debut for New Zealand. Neesham is not playing, neither is Matt Henry.
What has CdG done to leapfrog Neesham in the pecking order?
Is Neesham out of form? -

Little Kane wins a toss and we will bowl. de Grandhomme and Wagner are in - Neesham and Henry are not.
Not the choice I would have made for the middle order. I would have barely given Neesham over de Grandhomme a second thought, but let's see Colin prove me wrong.
