Waikato v Canterbury (Ranfurly Shield game)

@Hooroo well and there i was thinking that the highlight for you would have been getting to watch some of the game with a fellow ferner. What a fcuker. Hope you got fcuking wet.
Great game to remind everyone what a bunch of dicks backs are. Especially when they kick the ball away to the opposition with 2 mins on the clock and behind on the score board.
Was extremely tempting to run on the pitch and punch him in the nuts as a friendly reminder to never do that again.
-
@WillieTheWaiter oh yes. Good to see you too mate. Did not get wet.
Kicking the ball out on the full at restart and then dead lost any momnentum they had
-
What's with this "the Shield's home'' bullshit that all the boorish Ca/unterbury supporters have been flinging all over social media like a mad woman's scat? Wasn't it first given to Auckland in 1902?

I couldn't believe that - firstly couldn't believe the Cantabs kicked it away with 2 minutes left and straight to the full back, but then to kick it straight back at them when possession is EVERYTHING with these trial laws.

That's what some supporters of every team - that has ever held the Shield - say, when they win it. So what?

I've hardly heard it from any other supporters of any other team. That's what.

@pukunui Trainor is with the Blues on a multi-year deal
Ah ok, shows how much i know about him.
Blues are really building a team with lots of potential. Hopefully Tana can make it happen. -

I've seen/heard it about every time the Shield changed hands. Nothing new or particular to the Cantabs. Now I'm thinking of it, I may be guilty myself and have said it when the Bay won the Shield back from Counties a year after they'd taken it from us.

LOL, for what?

Great to have the Shield home. From Sunday anyway. I don't know how all those other tin-pot Muppet show teams have managed to toss it around amongst themselves for so long without conceding it to us anyway. We could have already had it for four or five years now had they not all been conspiring and colluding against us by nefarious means. Now bow to our greatness, oh provincial minions.

That's because so few other teams have won it recently...

A bit late in replying but Waikato did much better than I thought. As I expected, the scrum proved our undoing in the end with 2 late penalties.
I was gutted to lose the RS to Canty in 1994 but don't have the same disappointment now. My attutude is that to lose the RS, you first must win it. And I've witnessed plenty of both!
