Any organisation that wants to call itself high performing sacks the coach if they lose to Wales.
I'm pretty sure I mentioned that RA is now less about rugby and more about being a stack of corporate fluffybunnies.
The guy in charge of Community Rugby at RA? Never been involved in the game prior to that appointment.

@NTA I really beginning to fear for Aus rugby, it seems to be getting worse rather than better, You and @mariner4life would be probably asking why it's taken me this long. I used to get driven up the wall when I was involved when over there, the game in Qld (and I only knew that area as that's where I was involved) just seemd hell bent on circling wagons on what they had as clubs, and f*** the subbie type clubs. My best mate has just packed in his membership etc, after 25 odd years, and says the frustration is just too much for him to enjoy the game. He still loves rugby as a game, but couldn't believe it when he didn't go to one super game or test match, there used to be a bunch of us that went to games all over , and while all still watch rugby, just seem they all lost that real desire for Aus rugby. And when I ask why, they keep saying things like you mention.

Wait, when did you guys have your governance review or did you arrive there organically?

Pour yourself a rose 😂
Not going to be there for 25 Lions and beyond
Surplus to requirements
I think Eddie has been very clear about that
But honestly, that’s so fucking stupid (from him, not you).
This Wallabies side had the easiest path to a Semi Final of a RWC than any side in the history of the fucking tournament.
Beat Wales, Fiji and Argentina and you’re on the big stage in a SF - who the fuck doesn’t grab that opportunity with both sweaty mitts and focus on this tournament right here, right now??!
Who cares about the Lions in 25 yet? Worry about that from 8 weeks time. Since when was a RWC considered a training ground to blood young guys for a fucking Lions tour in 18months!!!
The contempt this arsehole has shown to Australian media and fans alike is extraordinary. After everything Hooper gave to this team, imagine the poor bastard watching them get walked over by Fiji at every breakdown.
Unbelievable

Keep in mind how the story has changed: Originally it was a "smash and grab" for the RWC. That was the focus, that was the reason they got rid of Rennie before the RWC. Now with the benefit of a single solitary win against the might of Georgia, the tune has changed to young side building for the future.
The irony is how many of this current squad are likely to stick around in this clearly toxic environment? They'll fuck off OS at the first available opportunity.

And yet I've seen someone on Twitter today referring to McLennan as a sharp operator.
There are still some massively deluded fluffybunnies out there.
It's not known as the world's premier supplier of misinformation for no reason

@NTA said in Aussie Rugby:
Qld Suburban is basically dead. A few clubs hanging on, playing Friday nights against each other or Premier Club 6th grades.
That said, the Premier scene there always appeared much larger than Subbies e.g. 5 men's grades + a couple of colts in Prem versus 1 or 2 grades
Prem scene always appeared much larger I think, because most of subbeis play(od played, don't know who is there now) in either the Gold Coast , or Northern Coast comps? There only a few subbies clubs (I think) in Brisbane itself.

Harry posts some good stuff if you can get past all the poetic padding he often throws in. But Eddie will not be chopped cos that would a. cost too much and b. mean McClennan admitting his mistake. Even if the walls get stuffed and then lose the next one, Eddie is here until the Lions minimum

@Chris said in Aussie Rugby:
Fuck we all will be sick of Eddie by then.
I am already, his maaaaaaaaaate and crazy stuff was amusing for a while. But now he is fucking over NZs only major rugby partner - if Oz can still be called that.

That's a concern, obviously PE have the word that TV rights aren't going to take a significant jump after 2026? Also if Aus are really looking at $90m loan to keep them going until Lions/WC cash falls, is a worry. And supposedly looking at taking over Brumbies and Tahs as they got money probs. Seems almost they got more teams etc than they can afford, which is a worry, though not new.
