They already poached Goodhue, who was pretty good when i was watching him in the Auckland 1A comp. Definitely one to watch out for.
Hopefully the Blues make a play for Jordie.. Desperate need of a first five.. Would be good to see him playing inside SBW, Moala, Rieko, Nanai..

Why Jordie? Who is being talked up ad the second coming poor bastard.

I think the investment in Ihaia West is going to pay off for the Blues if they back him rather than trying to replace him. I'd rather be the Blues with West than the 'saders. -

Why not Jordie?

We've already chased the big time players, but I think with Jordie, we might have a chance as he hasn't yet established himself.

I do agree that West is better than Mounga and Hickey, but I don't see him as pushing for higher honors.
-

It was gospel 6 months ago that BB couldn't control a game as starting AB first five. -

Even if he couldn't control a game.. He was still good enough to be an AB..
-

TBF to Mannix, he became a much better player overseas later and Mains was casting a wide net so the AB contuity and combination we know now didn't exist, but even so, you don't knock on like he did. And he was from St Pats stream so fuck him. -

Jack Goodhue?

That's him I think. He was bloody good. -

Mannix had actually been an AB for a few years before Mains took over - just not as a test player (different times back then). Crazy to think he played his first match for the ABs at 19 and was done at 22.
-

These Canterbury backs that will play for the crusaders are already looking pretty cake eh, especially compared to watching umaga-jensen and procter carve up a short while ago.

Considering they've posted 40+ scores in every game so far this year, you'd think they're carving up.
-
Jordie looks like a taller version of Beauden. Exactly the same movements and posture.

Edit: Am watching a replay and he just threw an amazing pass that almost led to a try. Very early days but he looks bloody good.

Edit edit: He appears to be a better kicker than Beauden as well. Just slammed one over from 49 out. -
You know when someone's username includes the team they support that they are likely to be a sycophantic somewhat tedious poster. At least a couple of examples on this forum.

he's going to be a fair bit bigger than Beauden , 6 foot 5 and 96 kilos already ,

you would think he will end up a few kilos over 100 kilos by the time he fills out, should end up a decent size for the 12 position that he is tipped to play.

Bit rough on ACT Crusader there. I'd have a beer with him. -

Yeah ok I should have said "may well be" not "always is". Exceptions to the rule and all that. -

Yeah he's massive. There is some serious potential there. We talk about him joining his bro, but he's with his other bro already. Will be interesting to see where he ends up. The Saders should rape, murder and pillage to keep him down there. -

I saw that too. He's 6 years younger, taller and has been rattling up the points - 25 last week from a try and 4 + 4 goals; 8 today from a try and a 3 pointer.
-

What happened to Aaron Smith, Cruden and Dagg then? All from the 'canes catchment but became world class backs playing for someone else.

Aaron Cruden made his Super debut with the Hurricanes and played his first 30 caps with a franchise and was the owner of a World Cup winners medal by the time he left to join up with Dave Rennie. So thank you for bringing him. He rather supports my point about the Canes' genius in developing young backs into world-class players.

I think all five NZ franchises will be after Jordan Barrett for next season.
