Introducing - Hernia Boy...
-
looks like abs are back on the menu boys (bastardised quote from LOR trilogy)...

lying down on my back watching TV last night in an exhausted state (as you do), and lifted my head (strain on abs), and then lifted more as if I was doing a sit up. held for 30 seconds, hand on hernia 'hole', just in case. But no bulge tring to break through, and activated all stomach, lower and upper.

So that is one exercise that I can do for starters - hooray! -
My abs workout might be OK for your hole. I am starting with cable crunchs and then a series of front and side planks holding for as long as I can. This workout is superseted and the burn is fairly good.

I might get time to do abs on Sat with you as this is my normal day for them. -
that's NOT what I need to hear David <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

will be the first time I get chopped open in my 39 years on this planet (other than by accident). I am getting old now! -
right, I went and saw Doctor Mohammed Al Askari (or something like that), and will operate on me in early June - on my request. That is after the Auckland and Australian BB Champs, but before the Waikato comp.

Reckons a week recovery. Not using the mesh thing - just a centimetre incision, poke the guts back into me, and stitch me up - all under a local.

SO bashing on regardless with training until then, wish me luck! -
too small for the mesh the doc said, almost not worth doing the op at all. So this morning hammered my abs, and no problems - I'm just a wuss!

ACC Kirwan - my GP said I'd be lucky top get them to accept the claim, as most hernias aren't 'accidents', but obviously my "doing cable crunches, sharp pain in abdomen' call worked...!!! We'll take it anyway !! Instead of the stomach stapling! -
Hernia schmerina, who needs a weight belt. My little alien just part of the package now.

Great chest session today, machine press to start, with the 4 second decent of the weight, 4 sets, 12,10,8,6 with the weight going up each set.

Then decline bench, same sets and reps, finishing on 100kg, first time into three figures on a chest exercise since Adam was a cowboy. Only managed three full reps, and then 7 'pulses' weight coming down about three or for inches to the point you know that if you go any lower, it ain't coming back up!!

then incline dumbell press, same reps and sets, finishing with 30kg DBs. hardest thing here is getting the bloody weights up ready to press - with a dodgy left shoulder, my only worry, but there you go, you gotta do what you gotta do!

Cable flies, and then flat bench to finish the workout off - failing on the flat bench at 80kg!! four reps and half a dozen pulses!

but all good. CHeck out the gorilla I have to beat in Auckland in a few weeks - http://www.gofigure.co.nz/doc/content/view/976/29/ - used to own the Whagamata gym, a mate of mine, who as yet does not know I've jumped up to physique! Gulp! -
I currently weighing in at 91 odd kg, have a four pack (two bottom abs still in hibernation), traniner has me eating like a mad man. But skinfold measurements all good very lean, just feel fat! A far cry from the 78kg comp weight last year. think I'll be mid to early 80s when I lean down for Oz, and probably a bit more for AUckland in 7 weeks - aiming to peak for the Oz comp, lots of goodies to be won there, including a trip to compete in Vegas!!

Will get the Mrs to take some photos. It's not fair at the moment, she is leaning down, and looking like an anatomy lesson, while I am not - she calls me Fatty Booomsticks!!
