NZR Chair

So not quite where to post this, Sport or Politics. Please move as necessary .
NZR has elected a new Chairman, oops, Chair.
He happens to be white and... I was going to say middle aged but probably just old ... he had the temerity to be born in the 1950s.
These are apparently all bad things and NZR should have voted for the Maori fulla because diversity.
What's worse is the female Maori board member voted for the (whisper it) white old guy ... how dare she! Traitor to her people!
Probably needs to be in the politics thread ...
But has anybody got any insight on the new guy, Mitchhell?
-
Is he taking us on a journey?

I'd never heard of Stewart Mitchell until a few days ago when he was mentioned as the favourite for the position.

Actually wonder if Dame Patsy realises she has finally made it, one thing to be Governor General, but she's finally cracked it as chairman of NZR!!!
She won't feel that way if they fuck up the ABs coach appointment. She will raise the ire of a horde of angry Polish chicks
Na mate, appointing AB coach is not the most important job NZR got,, that's just for people on forums. There job is to run all rugby in NZ, she'll be ok.

@Machpants NZR have done a lot of investments in women's rugby (incl RWC and Aupiki) and community rugby in 2022. I understand from what's published about RA's AGM that they plan on using their surplus to make that kind of investments. So I don't think it's that simple to compare, as you'd have to look at what money is spent on and where it's coming from.

@Machpants said in NZR Chair:
@Stargazer Ozzie manage a 8 mill profit after covid, us a 50 mill loss!
Didn't OZ get an advance from world rugby or was that the year before?

Indeed, it was a bit tongue in cheek. I bet they also didn't spend 40 mill on grass roots
