Worst Thing You've Seen On a Sports Pitch

Who was the proper mental English lad who very deliberately bent that guys arm around a ruck?

What a bunch of pussies the players were. Should have given that spectator a good shoeing rather than leave it to the Ref.

Calum Clarke. Pure shithouse.

Colin Meads was responsible for more than his fair share of thuggery
He was a hard man enforcer who played on the edge in an era where that was common, but I wouldn't call him a thug who went out to maim people any more than I would Martin Johnson or Willie John. He'd happily punch someone's light out in a confrontation but deliberately kicking a player or eye-gouging was def. not his style.

I don’t recall this incident and it doesn’t sound like Deano, but he was a hard bastard so it is possible.
It was on Frank Bunce and there was nothing hard bastard about it. The UK press didn't remark on it all but then had a collective meltdown when something similar happened to Phil DeGraville on a tour later the same year (by Jamie Joseph IIRC). They even brought in the Chariots of Fire writer to write an inflammatory article about it - yep, he's as shit at sports writing as he is at scripting.
Didn't mean to imply that stamping on someone's head is a hard bastard thing to do, just that Deano was a tough nut and I wouldn't necessarily rule much out.
I still don't recall the incident but have seen it referred to many times. A shithouse thing to do.

I do like the story in at least one of his books about unloading his best punch on Keith Murdoch, who, completely un-phased, looks at him like "what was that?".
Meads, panicking, says "that was just a warning..."

Speaking of Meads, the Northern Transvaal bloke who kicked and broke Meads' arm in '70 and crowed about it was a serious grub.

Someone posted about Loe two or three posts earlier
