@antipodean yeah, not doing that tonight. Opted for the "open another red and surf the Fern instead" option
Always a good option

Subscribed to Paramount for the trip to NZ, thought I'd download it and smash it in 5 days, then cancel before the 7 days is up.
Trip here was a cluster fuck so haven't watched anything yet and I'm on Day 3. Tried to watch just now and it doesn't work in NZ. Fuckers know where I am.
Tips on how to fool them?
VPN.
And you probably have to set your time zone to Australia.

I watched S2 of See during the week. I really enjoy this series, and the world-building created. This also provides an insight into how the blind would communicate in such circumstances. It looks fantastic in 4K.
I'll knock off some other Apple TV+ shows while I am subscribed. Next up will be S2 of Ted Lasso.

Love See. Great premise, super interesting, fight scenes are awesome and Momoa shows real acting chops.
Ted Lasso is a treat, like kids TV for grown ups, enjoy

Started Winning Time last night, yeah fun and quirky, still trying to get into it but worth watching.
Loving it
Some really interesting side stories and fascinating to see who ‘came up’ at the same time.

I loved it. Unique format, great acting, learning some things despite reading extensively about the era.
Gutted it only had 6eps!
Originally thought it looked good to watch with the 13yr old, but it didn't turn out to be the case...

I'd delayed trying that for soooo long... the character was just annoying in Breaking Bad, and I figured "how interesting could it be to watch a long-winded prequel to an annoying side-character?"
I was wrong... it really is rather good. Helped, obviously, by also telling the back-story of several other less-annoying characters in parallel.
It does make me want to go back and watch Breaking Bad again - mostly I wanted to see how the Nacho character was portrayed there compared to his back-story here... but looking it up now... it seems he never actually appeared in BB? Stupid brain creating false memories... I was sure he'd been one of Walter's first run-ins with the cartel(s). Or maybe I'm just racist... all those hispanic-types look the same to me. I was probably thinking of Cliff Curtis. -

I’m the opposite of you two, liked him in BB, couldn’t get through S1 of Better Call Saul.

@antipodean Just watched the first ep. That Aussie chick is off the charts annoying Aussie.

@crucial I've watched Ep 1 and while I agree with everything you say I'm still a little underwhelmed.
It's like every performance 80% nails it but the sum of the individual parts is less than 80%
I think you're probably right about the plot - although I didn't notice that with the books. Just seems like you don't get enough of the depth of the characters especially the interaction between the Slow Horses themselves. We know nothing of Roddy for example. Given how little plot development there was though - if you delved more into the characters it would be very slow indeed.
I'm trusting its a slow burner and will develop. I'm also going to recommend it to someone who hasn't read the novels for their take.
I haven’t read the novels and really enjoyed the first two episodes. Less enthused by the direction of episode 4 though.
I think they did an ok-ish job with the characters, although they could have done a settler episode after ep 1 where we get to know the slow horses a bit better.

Watching Halo with my youngest
I just want to buy the first x-box and play Halo 1 & 2. Beat time's I've ever had gaming

Doing what I swore to myself I would never do, re watching Game of Thrones with the girl cos she has never seen it. Easter evenings are a great time to do this especially considering there aren’t many new options at the moment.
Season 1 nearly done and fascinating seeing characters from the early days and how they have progressed ( or died horribly ). It’s amazing how relatively normal both Cersei and Danaerys are when you consider what horrible bitches they become later on. To my eternal awe she knows all about the Lannisters, Starks, Targaryens etc without having to consult a flowchart like I did when I watched it on DVD years ago. So much T and A too, especially compared to the later seasons.
She throws things at me every time I blurt out a spoiler about what happens to such and such down the track which I guess is fair enough.
I’m nice and quiet now but I can tell she’s picturing Theon Greyjoy losing his cock in a few seasons time.
