UN Security Council resolution condemning Russia for invasion of Ukraine fails due to Russian veto, China abstains, as does India.

Bugger, if that vote had gotten up this war would be over for sure

They screw with America's election and what do they do? Nothing.
Joe and Nancy insist elections were tamper-proof and that only crazy conspiracy theorists say otherwise.
I think you're conflating the use (by foreign agencies) of social media etc to influence voters with people actually changing the votes on machines and papers. The first happened, on a large scale, the second didn't

Putin had now threatened Sweden and Finland with military consequences of they try to join NATO. After the invasion of Ukraine, that is those countries only chance of steering under their own governments. Putin/Hitler comparisons very apt
Stupid c-unt is going to lead to Russia being sanctioned hard.
And maybe just maybe, Twitter and Facebook will deem Russian state propagandists as bad and as dangerous as Trump and ban them from using their platform. But I might be getting ahead of myself.

Probably futile resistance but awesome to read.
I'm increasingly reading that the invasion hasn't gone to plan for Putin due to poor logistics and fierce resistance from Ukrainian forces. The longer they hold out the more damage Putin will suffer both domestically and internationally - the cost of the war will also drain the economy. The big danger, though, is he gets frustrated and attacks indiscriminately with huge loss of life.
I'm actually impressed with the response in the west, particularly Europe. Even Germany seems to be backing the UK & Holland's push to kick Russia out of SWIFT.

So many things fundamentally wrong with the States…just another. Not a country you want to model your democracy on.

It’s what friends do..
(This twitter thread is incredible, the replies from blue-check Chinese state officials and the sub-threads especially, geezuz what a can o’ worms, careening from Taiwan to Kashmir in a heartbeat!)
The West should stop trading with Russia and China ( now that would be hard ). The real danger here is most likely China. You can see Russians getting rid of Putin and being worked into a functioning Europe. However China is a whole different story.

This one’s a little bit scary, especially if true!!
https://unherd.com/2022/02/putins-spiritual-destiny/
“Many people don’t appreciate the extent to which the invasion of Ukraine is a spiritual quest for him. The Baptism of Rus is the founding event of the formation of the Russian religious psyche, the Russian Orthodox church traces its origins back here. That’s why Putin is not so much interested in a few Russian-leaning districts to the east of Ukraine. His goal, terrifyingly, is Kyev itself.”

@kid-chocolate Putin has been all over countries on Russia’s borders. He is an expansionist. You can’t give in to bullies. Ukraine has done nothing wrong. The “free world” has let it down - not honouring treaties ( Obama ) and trading with Russia, allowing Putin to increase his power. The Economists are mostly to blame. Allowing an elite to gain economic power in Russia with asset sales, following up with austerity policies for the people.

@kid-chocolate I’m not sure how helpful it is to post speculative opinion pieces from the tablet and some random God-botherer from Southwark TBH. Especially when you’ve just said you believe about 10% of what you are hearing.
Maybe we should stick to trying to Ferning rather than trying to giving airtime to the amateur psychologists.
