New Zealand Heartland XV squad

@cgrant I haven't been able to find eligibility rules for this team, but I think players who have played for national representative teams at higher levels (ABs, MABs(?), ABs 7s) are not allowed to play for this team. Ngarohi McGarvey-Black, who also plays for East Coast, hasn't been selected either., nor has Faifili Levave. In previous years, they also didn't select Corey Flynn (West Coast), Pire Weepu & Zac Guildford (Wairarapa Bush), Regan King (Mid-Canterbury) or Alby Mathewson (King Country), to name a few.

@stargazer So a combination of young U20 players, non-SR players, and Bent.
Hopefully the game will be televised.

Tukuâafu was one of the mystery players seen on the sidelines in the later Waikato NPC games. He used to be a hooker and played in the same Hamilton BHS front row as Ayden Johnstone. Both made the NZS team that year. I don't remember him being part of Waikato squads previously, but maybe he's been a regular club player.

@bovidae NZ Heartland started with the wrong halfback in my opinion ,Lindsay Horricks made a massive difference when he came on ..NZ Babas scored 3 tries while Willie Wright was in the bin and for me that was the ball game ..some good players on show from both teams

@steven-harris Yes, some of those Heartland players looked decent. Wright's YC was crucial, but it was a cynical infringement.
The player that impressed me the most was Taniela Filimone. I see he went to RBHS and came up through the BOP/Chiefs system. He wasn't a regular for Manawatu though. One to look out for.
