Dopehead bro can’t get straight answer from medical expert.
That annoyed the crap out of me. He hardly gave the other guy a chance to speak. One of my many pet hates.
Welcome to the Jeremy Vine school of interviewing. Christ but that twat boils my piss.
Two minute clip from hours of interview. Context matters, even when your piss is boiling. Dial the emotion back a little. Believe me, it helps. Science even says it’s healthy for you and leads to longer and less stressful lives. Give it a shot. I mean, I’m seeing a number of replies here that border on the hysterical, commenting about raging boiling anger, attacking style points, and yet not once addressing the actual substance of his point.
You know it's entirely possible that people may agree with the message, but not the manner of its delivery? Not saying that's the case here, but people are entirely justified in pointing out a behaviour they don't like.

@crazy-horse simple questions Gupta hummed and hah about. If he was assured of himself he would have been more assertive. He knew Rogan had him by his beta male balls.

I agree context is very important and also agree with @MajorRage that a short snippet from a longer piece is not necessarily indicative of the broader picture. My comment was really aimed at Jeremy Vine, for verily he is the piss boiler supreme. Having said that, the little I have seen of Rogan, he seems to have a large following of people that share his political and cultural views, balanced by a large number of haters that don’t share those views.

Not sure how Gupta normally is but some people need a little longer to start being able to express themselves properly. Especially when things take an unexpected turn. I know I do.

I’m waiting for the right time to unleash “forsooth”. It is only a matter of time.

@crazy-horse he is a MD and he works at CNN. You know the network that for years falsely asserted Trump was in be bed with Russia when anyone with half a brain knew he was American as apple pie. He is a Md and TV commentator right? So I would expect a better response unless he knew he did not have a leg to stand on.

As a vaccinated person, in a family of vaccinated people there is one question I haven't been able to figure out yet:
What danger does an unvaccinated person pose to me?
From the little I know (and what my algorithm gives me access to) I don't have any qualms whatsoever sharing a plane, restaurant, sports ground or workplace with an unvaccinated person. Welcome aboard, I'm protected, you do your thing, is how I see it.
I'm missing something aren't I?

Yes you are, the fact you like in a society made up of other people. The danger? It may cost you access to an ICU bed, or hospital in general.
We use those for more than covid, say for instance you have a car crash home from dining out or have a heart attack.
Enough people stay unvaccinated, delta variant sweeps through the country (where we stretch to 500 ICU beds, and barely have enough staff for those) then our health system gets swamped.
Thats why we are trying to protect vulnerable people, and project our health system.

@kirwan that's not the message being touted in North America.
In north America large numbers of health workers are being removed from their jobs. Hospital departments are being closed because of vaccine mandates and short staff. Similarly the police, fire departments and airlines - all who maintain the health facilities in society.
I don't think firing nurses is a valid solution for the protection and well being of health services.
You didn't address the question. The question you answered would more appropriately be: " Why should we ban all alcohol, smoking and and fast food in society?". That'd free up some hospital space much more effectively.

Sigh, my mistake. Don't feed the troll, Kirwan.

@kirwan I understand what you're saying and how that fits with the NZ scenario but I haven't stated anything untrue about the "overall" situation globally.
This is a vaccine mandate issue, and healthcare maintenance is not as widely stated by North American media.
The difference in our perspectives is simply that I don't think there is any authority anywhere that can compel someone to put anything in their body they don't want to. Obviously we'll have to agree to disagree on that.
Or is it, what's the most effective way to free up hospitals while we wait for covid to become endemic?
You think vaccinations is the best way to free up hospitals. You might be right, although hospital space wasn't a major issue in North America in 2020 if the non use of 3 navy hospital ships in NYC is any indication. But as you say delta could change that.
I think a temporary alcohol free society will free up hospitals and emergency departments far more effectively. The effects would be felt in every hospital the very next Friday night.
I don't think firing 16 year experienced nurses that have had covid is the best way to free up hospitals. I bet you don't either.
If I insist others must forego their principles to help the greater good, then I must be prepared to give up mine for the greater good. I'm sure that's the overlying health message here.
I don't expect a reply mate, all good - just chucking thoughts around, testing ideas Your ideas will win the day.

Ok I follow your position a bit better now.
For me, I have to discard too many other factors to agree with you. I do honestly stress about the effects of group think snd ppl not listening enough to other views tho so it is good to properly nut down your position.
Only rebuttal I’ll say, is that I err more on employer rights over employee. Always have and now as a small biz owner, always will. Government pays medical staff. So if they say you must be vaccinated …..

@rapido ya have to worry about place like India, that have a long road to a decent level of vaccination and not where near the same levels of medical care according to a friend we have over there
They've got plenty of spares.

@antipodean you'd have to think thier almost half a million deaths is likely to be double, if not considerably more.
