This game was such a good advertisement for the sport. I happened upon it by chance - I loosely follow MLB but don't watch many games in their entirety but this was compelling. Not to mention it coming down to the bottom of the 9th as well. I imagine the MLB spent a pretty penny building the stadium, but what a great spectacle.

@aucklandwarlord that game had the highest television ratings for a regular season game since 2005. Fair to say it was a success!

@aucklandwarlord It was a great film, they did a great job of re-enacting it. The players looked like they got a real kick out of it too

@kiwimurph I was hoping he'd pitch in the 9th, but apparently he was tired - understandable when it's the first time he's pitched 8 innings in his career.
While his home runs have not been as frequent post-AS game, his pitching has gone to another level since then.

Everything about it was awesome. The cornfields right next to it, the manual scoreboard, the past-generation looking stands. I reckon other sports could learn from this.
Obviously it doesn't have the same history as the Field of Dreams thing, but how good would it be to see something like an All Blacks test held at a really rustic and rural ground to give a grassroots/Footrot Flats feel about it?

Ohtani pitching and hitting right now vs O's. Given up two solo homers in his first inning but no hits in the second.

Struck out twice now himself though
