@nta kids are overrated.
Just took Ms Boo Jr out to look at the start of the eclipse.
Suitably impressed: Making alarm to to come out and look at the total thingame.
Said to her (based on being the first one for 40 years) that their won't be another for 40 years.
"So you won't get to see it ..."
Bitch. Don't care how right she is ... I'd only be 92 ...
Told her that it's lucky I have a sense of humor.

@booboo shake the phone a bit and apply a filter, could end up with a fair rendition of the Scream
I had similar luck with my attempts. Seeing some cool shots pop up online though. Man, some folks have got some lethal camera gear. Awesome stuff. Do we have any photo-ferners?

Wife has a DSLR and is getting some decent snaps.
Got the 8 year old out of bed to watch, he's really excited. 8 is a good age, old enough to understand shit and young enough to get really excited 🙂

looking pretty cool, almost there...not as blood red as I was expecting so far

Same here. Kids not interested - too sleepy to get up
I saw the full eclipse - was seriously impressive

@nzzp Moon was almost straight overhead so tripod was useless but did get a number of cool photos with ISO at the highest I could go without noise (2400)
More a muddy brown than a blood red but still impressive. I preferred the eclipse to the blood moon. Made a mistake by walking up the hill to try and get something to frame the shot and give some perspective but there was increased background light. Was better off in my back yard. Would have loved to have viewed it from out in the Gulf.

Some of the photos on the Stuff link below are seriously impressive. Given this was the first time a blood supermoon had happened in 40 years it was worthwhile watching.
