Yes he has been overall good I think at 15 but he is hardly used for kicking, made mistakes and pushes JB to wing.
If we look at 10,14,15 is that the strongest in those positions or is 10-15 axis that important? What mistakes has BB made at fullback?

Pick a Barrett for fullback (not Kane or Scott) the other one goes to the bench. Both of them cover more than one position from there.

Too simple eh?
That move would then give the starting backs and reserves more balance to cover the midfield and wing.

@Snowy although...SB is less likely to do something dodgy in a ruck if he plays at 15.
In a ruck, yes. Overall probably not.

I'm going to address the gazelle in the room-is BB playing well enough to be in the team?
Defo playing well enough to be full-back. Can't complain about the results when he has.
Seems to enjoy the time and space at 15, looks stifled at 10 sometimes. To be fair his pack played shit last time out
-
@KiwiMurph at least one kick in Bled 2 28th minute and I think I recall out of position or weak tackling in another

And his halfback.

Given the above, I'll rephrase my question: what is missing from RM-BB (10:15) that requires JB at 14? To my eyes he is playing like a slow wing not a fb/wing, not fending correctly, not using his cannon that much and not having to take many high balls (which other wings are good at too). He really looks like he is taking the place of a winger and I have not seen what he brings to the table to offset that? Long-range penalties and conversions? I have not got the figures here but I suspect his kicking success has not been 80% perhaps not even over 70%.

Yeah have to agree. Rieko Ioane for JB gives us better finishing power. Then you only need JB or DMac on the bench not both.

With you on that. He seems to have a good eye for a gap / play what's in front of you type player.
Great boot, good pass. Not so much use on the wing. Reduced space (touchlines, rush defence) lack of flat out speed or a serious step.Strengths not being used for me.
Wing cover (if we have to) from the bench.

Otherwise no surprises he chose his strongest lineup with Nepo being eased back in.It's not the strongest line-up.
Akira isn't there.Think you can read my responses above.

One thing neither Reece or Rieko offer is a kicking game - it's crazy to me these guys don't work on these sort of skills as professional players.
Reece has even admitted that this is a big work-on.
Surely growing a few inches must be his main work-on?

Good team, like the look of Brad Webber on the bench instead of TJP.

Surprised that no one has picked up that this grouping played a very different style to what we saw last week's team sent out to do.
For the first 5 minutes or so last week I was wondering if Akira was even playing then realised that he had been stationed out wide in the gameplan. That is not what they do with Frizzel.
Same with the backs and back reserves. This group has an obvious two playmaker system that requires speed from the 15 to slot in at second phase. JB doesn't offer that, hence the selection of DMac.
I'm not advocating that all of this is good just pointing out what is actually quite obvious and possibly reason for the selections that are being questioned.
Glad to see that the selectors are enforcing consequences for dumbness though. Just as RIoane was punished it appears that SB is also and TJ has been dropped (about 30 minutes too late)
