Remember how many phone numbers you could remember back in the day??? Now I can barely remember how old I am!
fuck yes. i was good with phone numbers. If i could have ever got a chick to give me hers, i wouldn't have even needed to write it down. Real pity i never got to put that to the test

@taniwharugby no GPS, easy to wipe... the list of why it was valued by certain folks goes on lol.
But the best bit - playing the snake game!!

My mate ordered one of these, was very very very very unimpressed when he found out it didn't click out like in the matrix! I think Nokia missed a trick when they didn;t include the click out into the reboot last year
I had a 8110. I recall it being immensely expensive for a uni student. Then a 8850 years later. Both of which I lost on the turps...

Still have my first one, a 5110 I think. Could receive texts but not send! Still worked after cracking the screen when it was in my pocket for a motor scooter accident.
you povo fluffybunny!
oh, wait, you mean you still have it, in a drawer somewhere. As you were
-
@mariner4life not just any drawer.

I've had a Nokia 8 and while it was a decent price (AUD600) it has had its flaws, and now the USB-C port is getting wonky. After 2 years in a throwaway consumer electronics market, less than $1 a day is about right.
So I'm looking around again. I don't buy phones on plan - prefer outright as I get a good plan from my ISP. Always try to get as native to Android as I can. Samsung I consider overpriced with an OS that just gets in my way. I don't need a phone that has light-up edges.
I see the Google Pixel 3a is still around in stores. Anybody have one? Thoughts?
In any case I can claim it on tax so pricing isn't that big a deal, but just like to keep it sensible.
-
timely bump of the thread. Ended up getting a Samsung A51. Decent price and it's running nicely.
During the set up I did have a we laugh about our recent Covid19 App data privacy, big brother type conversations. Nothing like a new phone and clicking accept to signing your life away on every bloody thing you have running on it!! I get the private v govt distinction, but the data horse has bolted, grazed, boned, then gone to the knackers!

@NTA I got an A50 at Christmas, been pretty happy with it. Was about $400NZD, and I thought great value.
The mid range seems to be the value part now - cameras, chipsets, speed all amazing in that price range.
Looks like the A51 is in stock over here now. Will check it out.

I've got a pixel 3a it fucking rocks. The only thing I wish was that it was water proof.
I have a S10, but next phone will be a Pixel I reckon
How annoying is the water resistance factor? Like, are you afraid to check your phone in a drizzle? Or are you looking to do more extreme things with it?
