@Nepia Not sure if they do, or at least most do. I think you will see most offer around 80 mbps because of the real world failure of most NBN installations to hit 100 mbps due to the various connection types - FTTP, FTTN, FTTC, HFC, etc.
In fact, Telstra now only advertises their Premium Speed Service as "85Mbps typical evening speeds on Premium speed boost. FTTP and HFC only", no mention at all of 100 mbps and yes it does include unlimited data. This premium service costs $120 a month.
It does say in the details on another page... "Sometimes we go even faster. From June - Nov 2019, most customers experienced average evening download speeds of 90Mbps"
Where as we get an average of around 95-98 mbps in those times and I've seen speeds exceeding 100 mbps in the middle of the night gaming.
Often on the Aussie based BF4 and V servers I will get a ping of 1, never more than 2 and other gamers always ask what I'm on.
Poor wee things.
1Gig is available here in little old NZYup, Aussie is utterly fucked for internet! Worse than most third world countries all thanks to the worst Government I've seen in the ~30 years I've lived here.
The LNP who've now been in power since 2013 took what was an excellent plan and already being rolled out by Labour and just utterly destroyed it because of partisan politics.
Actually the whole problem started when two inveterate spastics, namely Rudd and Conroy, decided they knew better than Telstra how to roll out a broadband network.
They then decided that a government run monopoly would solve the market problems of a monopoly. They mandated a commercial return and that it had to be sold. The government doesn't own it, they simply run it. because what government department isn't excellent at running commercial ventures? To own it they'd have to buy the bonds, but they don't have the cash because for over a decade we've been running deficits.
Then to fix these appalling fuckups, the Liberals decided to roll it out faster and cheaper, the net effect of which is a combination of the worst possible business model and technology choices.
Actually, the litany of fuck ups goes back to Hawke joining OTC and Telecom. Then the Liberals didn't have the foresight to split the retail and wholesale sides when they sold it.
The worst part is the market was actually slowly resolving the problem as markets fundamentally do through competition. If streaming services had started just five years earlier than they did with Netflix, we'd have better, faster, cheaper internet.

@Nepia Yep, That's Tone's hood. I'm in Fairlight, round the corner. We got NBN pretty quickly, one of the first streets. Paid for 25/5 initially to test it out, we have never got better than 17/3.5.
That's your provider, not the NBN.

I lived in a city for 13 years and when I left in 2018 I still had ADSL, I moved to the country and now get wireless 25/5 which is a great improvement but still a bit shit.
I have my fingers crossed that Elon Musks new satellite broadband will be my saviour when he offers ridiculous speeds from space. No idea if it is possible but it would be cool if your phone could connect to Musks satellites so you could in theory never be out of signal or data.

Neon doesn't have a lot of features, like 5.1 sound. Hopefully the platform will improve now that Sky has bought Lightbox.
Speaking of subtitles, I am finding the subtitle option on Amazon Prime via my ATV frustrating. Sometimes the subtitles work just fine but other times I need to resort to English subtitles to understand foreign language dialogue. That also means everything is subtitled!

@Bovidae I find that so much of todays movies/series are done with poor audio volume and clarity of voices, I often turn subtitles on anyway, even when speaking English, otherwise when the inevtible fight/explosion/car chase etc comes on, the noise explodes form the TV speakers after having up so loud to hear the pesky talking stuff.

@Bovidae @taniwharugby I hate English subtitles for english language. Drives me bonkers. I once had a German girlfriend who would insist we always have the English subtitles on (her English was pretty good) - I'm not 100% sure that insistence wasn't one of the reasons we broke up.

Now that I've moved and no longer have FTTP, I've suddenly become massively critical of the NBN.
~250m from a node and I have to apply a stability profile so as to stop random dropouts. 🤬

Investigated that until we got direct fibre a year after we moved to (very) rural Cornwall. Thought it was a bit expensive with limited data.
Is 4G available in your area? Being used extensively in rural parts of the UK as you can be further from the mast and is dirt cheap (£40/month with unlimited data).Good speeds too - around 60Mbit/s
