Why are people saying "if we'd started Mo'unga"? Did they not watch his first test start?
Probably because a Mo'unga-BB 10 - 15 combo could have worked better than the BB-JB combo?
I'd never have started Mo'unga in this game but I'd have preferred him on the bench so that BB could drop back to 15 in the second half and RM could play at first five-eighth.

Would Mo’unga have taken over the kicking? DMac and JB are better kickers than BB, and even with BB having a particularly bad night with the boot Read didn’t give the ball to anyone else.
That was the most inexplicable thing to me, where was the captaincy to adjust when something was going wrong?

This is one hell of a fucking game.
It is. Particularly for neutrals.
You're not neutral
You're for us, or you hate us

@rebound said in All Blacks v Springboks:
@derm-mccrum how they dominates the game should've easily won by way more than 10 points. The Boks should've have more yellows for persistent infringing. If it was the ABs getting away with so many conspiracies would've been abound about refs helping them
persistent infringing is such a bullshit reason to bray for cards.
Those consecutive penalties include the bok dominant scrum penalty that went against them , and Snyman stuffing up an attempted turnover.
I hate it regardless of the team. Consecutive/persistent penalties include refereeing mistakes or sometimes just bad luck.

BB is way, WAY too erratic with his goalkicking for an international 1st 5. And that has to be concerning for the coaches, because if someone else has to do it, backline reshuffle.
Jordie at 15, BFA at 14, JB does the kicks and DMac takes over when he comes on with fresh legs too.

Yeah.. He kicked 7/8
Do you think we would've scored six tries tonight based on his general play against Argentina?

The missed conversions don't irk me as much (though one in particular was basically unforgivable) as the non-attempt at a dropgoal there at the end. Very annoying. Congrats Boks, well played
Given the position we had it was crazy. I could have knocked on over left-footed with a blindfold on from there. Surely DMac and Beauden aren't that awful at a simple droppie...
-
@antipodean We will never know.
-
@no-quarter It was so weird. There were several moments where it looked like DMac had exactly positioned himself for the droppie. And then he never got the ball.
-
@stargazer said in All Blacks v Springboks:
Let Dmac kick!
Why is it we amateurs could all see that?
-
@stargazer said in All Blacks v Springboks:
@antipodean We will never know.
We know he was not great against a weaker opponent. Logical to assume he would have been worse against a fired up Bok side.

Put like that... why did the coach have the third best kicker in the 23 kicking goals from the start of the match....
