Gday MVJ<br />
<br />
Yep walking is a good way to get to/from work, saves money and is also quite relaxing. It takes me 50mins door to door, the bus or train (from Zetland) takes me 30 mins door to door so its not really that much more time and it saves me say $5 a day in fares.<br />
<br />
I try and do it 8 times per week, but probably average say 6 times depending on weather and how busy I am at work. I try and do it in a way that maximizes my sweating (we have showers at work), and that does include looking like a tool and swinging my arms around wildly. <br />
<br />
I have been doing it for about 2 years now so I can manage the distance fairly easily, even when I go to and from work in one day. The conclusion from this is that my current weight stems mainly from my eating habits so I am focusing on that now while also trying to increase the exercise. <br />
<br />
I have started jogging part of the journey (last night I estimate that I was jogged 3.5km’s of the trip home) but its too hard on the knees to do it every day. I have also started detouring via moore park once a week to build in a couple of hill sprints (now they are truly evil).<br />
<br />
Yesterday’s report<br />
<br />
Exercise:Â jogged the majority of the way home (say 3.5kms) and maybe could have gone further!<br />
<br />
Food: Wheatbix for breakie, 3 yoghurts as snacks, salad for lunch and roast lamb and baked vegies for dinner. -

Day 17<br />
<br />
Food was more of the usual with beef strogonoff for dinner.<br />
<br />
Walk to work and jogged most of the way home (reckon I would have passed the 4km mark in jogging mode). The jogging damm near killed me and caused me to cramp up at an infortunate time later on in the night whilst the wife was rewarding my weight loss efforts to date.<br />
<br />
With the tahs game to night followed by a bucks weekend I am likely to undo some of the good work this week. -

First of all: more salt to stop that. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /><br />
<br />
Second - at least it took your mind off matters at hand and probably gave you a few more minutes in the saddle <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> -

<br />
geez mark, that conjured up a very amusing mental image. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> -

I get sore too but cramping after thrust #2 is really hamming it up, bro. :afro: -
Days 18,19 & 20.<br />
<br />
I was well behaved on Day 18 - a few beers at the tahs game being the only blemish.<br />
<br />
Days 19/20, lets just say it was a biiiig weekend on the grog/fried food at the bucks party. Fingers crossed that the good work earlier in the week will make for some sort of joy at weigh in tomorrow.<br />
<br />
Back on it now - no more excuses for falling off the routine for the next month or so. -
Day 21<br />
<br />
Weight in day - the scales stoped at 130kgs, which I think is another kg off. The gut measurement is provving difficult - I measured it at 123cm but the wife has 124cm when she had a go?<br />
<br />
No exercise yesterday but like to think I overcompensated by eating very healthily, including baked stiffed squid for dinner.<br />
<br />
Started back on the exercise this morning. -

<br />
Good work big lad - as for the measurement, I find that I do the measurement in a mirror so I can make sure the tape measure is in the same position every time. I use the horizontal plane around the belly button to make it the same every time. Try not to suck it in the paunch either 'cos you're only cheating yourself <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> -
Days 22 – 28 <br />
<br />
I have fallen off the wagon well and truly. I knew it was coming, with the wedding and all, but even still it was disappointing. Back on the wagon again today.<br />
<br />
Weigh in tomorrow morning – I expect that I will be a gainer for the last week.<br />
<br />
Back on the straight and narrow now. -
Weigh in this morning (1 day late) and the scales stopped at 130kgs.<br />
<br />
Very happy with this given the eating drinking and lack of exercise in last week (although I did manage a jog at one stage).<br />
<br />
Am back on the healthy eating routine now and started exercising again this morning. Next stop 120kgs! -
and it makes you ahve to hold your stomach in too, meaing you are getting a premanent ab workout <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Great work mark! 9kgs lost and 1.5kg in a week is a damn good effort mate. Keep it going. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' />
