Red Meat
-
Yeah prefer to get my protein from real foods too rather than whey powder etc. Having said that, I would have at least 1 protein shake a day but more often then not 2.

I'm the same as you MN5, eat plenty of red meat but always resist eating the fat etc. I havent read that report Red Terror but not too worried to be honest.

We prob have red meat for dinner 3 times a week, chicken 3 times a week and fresh seafood once. Plus I will have either chicken breast or tuna daily as part of my lunch and mid arvo snack. -
By the way, that report has been pretty discredited, or at the least the reporting of it has. The "science" behind it was pretty weak and couldn't really discount other factors. I'll see if I can dig up the counter links.
Here's one;

In short, everything in moderation, and try to eat real food (including meat) instead of stuff in boxes and cans. -
I dont eat a huge amount of red meat (steak, lamb) as much as I love it. Have a variety of meats in my diet, even have the odd day where I have no meat (but these are maybe 1 or 2 times a month) one of the meats I have increased since changing my diet is Tuna & Salmon (increased not the right word, I never used to eat them, but now I have them at least 3 times a week) instead of processed sandwich meats.

I just cry bullshit to all those reports, for and against anything, Study enough and you can find bad shit about anything. Maybe we could do a report on breathing. Breathing leads to death. In a study, it has been proved 100% that everyone who breaths, will die. Some earlier than others. So ways around breathing are being investigated, and a further 200 million dollars have been awarded to Bart for stating the obvious and further research...

WE eat read meat maybe a couple of times a week in lean down, and much the same normally. Usually lean steak, or lean beef mince. Other than that it's chicken, chicken or chicken, and fish too, although ness can't stomach fish now after our first dietician had us almosty growing gills we ate so much fish.

Gills, now that would be a way around breathing... Maybe a billion dollar study into converting humans to fish, I must apply now... -

The key part to those reports that Red Terror was referring to was that the diets were self reported by nurses involved in the study over a really long time frame. I'm sure they listed every Mars bar they ate... -

I love the lamb, too. Delicious.

You'd be surprised how many people up this way (pork eaters!) have never tried it.
